An early save came in, and turn 26 is in the record books. My injured scout limped back toward my borders:
Further east, more exploration. That looks like lakeshore to the southeast. Forested pigs are a pretty obvious edit.
The goblin and wolf rider crossed the river. The wolf rider is still out of range of my borders, unfortunately.
The southwestern scout continues exploring.

Turn 27. My nearly dead scout made it inside my borders. As you can see, I'm still 3 turns away from building my settler, while three of my opponents have already planted their second cities. I should be able to catch up with the next plant, since I don't need to crank out any warriors for defense against barbs.
My eastern scout kept exploring, then was eaten by a griffon at EoT. This map is lousy with the flying menaces.
My goblin spent another turn healing, while my wolf rider did a bit more exploring.
My southern scout found a lion; fortunately, it's out of range.

As of turn 28, very much like this:

Turn 29: my wolf rider made it safely inside my borders, and it looks good for the goblin, too. If the goblin survives, the plan is to sent him to the northwest, where my exploring has been pretty light.
The settler is headed to the tile east of the workers. Cow, rice, lots of hills. No commerce, but it opens up a gems/wheat site further east.
My southern scout survived a wolf attack, and I have a decision to make: save the promotion for Subdue Animal, or take Combat 2 right now? I'm leaning toward the latter. If he gets eaten with an unused promotion, that's kind of pointless. Having the extra strength makes it more likely he can survive to 8 XP.

When will you be getting AH?

Turn 31. I took some screenies for turn 30, but they're rendered redundant by these.
I finally have a second city. You can see the wheat/gems site to its northeast. Fourth city will be to the south of the wines, 3w2n of the capital. This was going to be my first city, but it really needs a border pop and AH for beef (especially after the Muris clan pooped on one of my river grassland tiles).
Brian is the score leader. He must have popped some techs from huts. If only I could *find* some huts, grumble grumble.
In the south, my warrior is still exploring. The wolf ran away rather than attack a CII scout across a river. Smart move.

I get Mining at the end of next turn, and the tooltip is currently showing 10 turns to AH. I'll need to save some cash since I'm currently -2 gold at 100% research, but I'll be bringing the gold tile online soon.
However, I don't thisnk AH should be my next tech. I'd like to grow my capital onto the soon-to-be mine tiles, but I'ld like something other than warriors and scouts to build while I'm growing. So, next tech will be Festivals, then AH.

Turn 32. I sent my injured, promo-pending scout out to reveal a few tiles and scoot back inside my borders. He found another lair.
That's quite a skeleton traffic jam.
In the south, my scout survives but hasn't found anything interesting.
As predicted, Mining finished at EoT. Do I have copper?
Yes. I need to improve that tile; it's a lot of hammers.

Turn 33. My southwestern scout continues to plod through the mountains.
My spiffy 3-move wolf rider can explore over rough terrain and still duck back into the safe zone inside my borders.

Turn 34: another missed report. Turn 35: my scout is still alive and pushing back the fog.
My goblin is ready to move out into the wilderness, and it looks like a wolf is waiting to change him into another wolf rider.
Demos, because I haven't shown them for a while (not because they're any good).
