[SPOILERS] Vive l'Afrique libre : Bowsling and Aivoturso are Mansa Musa of the Zulu

Continuing the micro timetable:

T5 border pop & switch to the deer tile
T11 finish AH, start mining
T15 finish worker, start warrior; worker starts pasture on pigs
T18 worker finished pasture
T19 mining finished fishing started
T20 camp started on deer
T21 Alcatraz grows and works PH
T23 camp finished, citizen switches to it
T24 Warrior finishes, settler started. Worker moves 1w to hill
T25 Fishing finished, BW started. Production in Alcatraz shifted to fishing boat. Mine started
T26 Alcatraz grows and works PH forest
T28 Mine finshed, switch there off PH forest
T29 Alcatraz grows, works fish. Worker starts temporary farm (to be cottaged later) 1s of Alcatraz
T33 Alcatraz grows (size 5), works PH forest. Farm finishes.
T34 WB finishes, production continues on settler, PH forest switched to farm (+1c)
T35 Worker prefarming wine
T36 Worker moves to PH forest in anticipation of BW
T38 BW finishes, TW started. Worker starts chopping PH SW of Alcatraz. Sadly this won't boost the settler. frown
T40 Settler finished worker started. Game recommends the southern tip of that sea, and I am inclined to agree, unless we find something of interest elsewhere. Chop comes in for worker

Stopped it there because the second city changes things a bunch. Probably not the best plan; we are especially lacking in military (T40 will bring barbs and other bad things).

I'll be gone this Saturday. Will be back on Sunday and I try to play around with the sandbox. First turns should be quite obvious. I don't think there is anything that can be done about micro before AH. And as I stated, the scouting plan seems solid. Circle around the capital and stay in easy to defend ground. As soon as we have our second & third city placement figured out, I think we should send our scout to search our neighbours. Early contact is IMO something we should strive for.

I've played the turn. Care Bears settled inland as predicted. Moved the scout as planned, and revealed a bigger ocean 2S of the southern tip of the Alcatraz ocean. Found some fish in the ocean as well as sugar, which makes second city location kind of awkward.

I wouldn't mind detouring from our original plan and moving 3-6 next turn, instead of 7-9. 3-6 reveals much more land, and opens up 8-7 for the turn after, which will be better than staying on our side of the hills.

I'm back. Yes, 3-6 makes sense. We should find out rather quickly if we have limited land mass in SE direction. BTW, I think we have found a rather suitable city place. 4S-1E from our capital seems a good place. However, this probably shouldn't be our second city as we need IW to really work that city.

Yes, I agree that that would be a great city, as long as we can get a fishing boat in place. Probably a good GP farm. Shame that we won't be able to share the deer with our second city, but that's just how it goes.

Actually, if the city is 4S-1E, it'll share the deer and it'll get all the new revealed resources. The work boat to the fish has to come elsewhere, though. So as said, that's an excellent long term city, but not as good a second city (though it shares the deer, which is definitely a plus).

Played the turn, saw an interesting map fuckup:

A forest just grew on the tile NW of our scout. Despite it being surrounded by jungles and deciduous forests, it ended up as a snowy boreal forest. smoke
