Azza's game is odd. He wanted to lynch CH and said he'd only switch off him if CH showed he can contribute. Most of us seem to think he hasn't shown that, but Azza is now voting Mattimeo. Understandable if he had grave reasons to switch, but he did not tell us those if he did. If CH rolls wolf that will give us a hint that Azza might be another.

I said it before, but I still don't like the policy lynch. It's punishing bad play. We are supposed to catch wolves, not punish bad play. It's of course different if someone we know to be a good and active player only posts 4 times and has bad gameplay, but it is CH's first game here. Granted this is Day 1, so at least here the odds of catching a wolf off a no-read is not significantly lower than catching a wolf off a wolf-read, since we have so little to go with.

I will say that there are examples of first-time wolfs not posting at all during the first day. The first example that comes to mind is Molach were I was a wolf with him. So I think you feel that C.Hero is a decent lynch but Azza would be better. That seems very plausible because of Azza's style. Is that true?

The 12 gathered and deliberated throughout the long day. They knew that there must be a death by the day's end, and that they held eachother's lives in their hands. Though some of the 12 argued against lynching that day, the Admin had declared it so; there was a werewolf infestation, and the only way to cleanse an infestation was final. The 12 debated and argued and even slung a few accusations, and almost everyone received a vote to die at some point during the day, the plurality finally decided on the newcomer, classical_hero. They hung him at dusk.

classical_hero was lynched. He was a 2-shot village doctor.

Begin Night One. (Ends 21:00 UTC on Wednesday, August 28th)
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

In case it isn't clear, you can all post, and classical_hero, you get one, non-game influencing farewell post.

Thanks for playing, Classical Hero, and sorry for lynching you.
I have to run.

There is a sorrowful atmosphere at the Glum's breakfast table this morning. Farewell classical hero. Like Hector and Achilles, you fall before your time.

I said he was reminding us of old grievances, which is true, even if it was done with a joke post and not a wall-of-text. There's nothing false about it. And since there were only 15 posts at the time, there wasn't a lot else to go on. Saying that my first vote of the game, afterwards explained and moved, was a serious lynch threat on Q's life is a bit of a reach.

I had forgotten Azarius played in the masquerade. Our Observations must have been breaking down a bit towards the end there.

Well, we're good at this whole 'welcoming the new people' thing, aren't we...

Jowy himself had brought those up, by saying that he wasn't going to be doing anything odd this game. Zak (I think) also joke voted him for that. I don't see what is suspicious about bringing up old grievances in a tongue and cheek way - you'll see it in half the games here, like pindicater voting Lewwyn and so on. I joked about it and dismissed it, I don't see anything scummy to that. I do think your jumping on it weird though, admittedly quite an early tell.

In a big game, I would agree with you. But we only get three mislynchs here, and classical_hero had behaved suspiciously and shown no inclination to contribute or even read the thread, so I still think it was better then lynching someone like you or MJW.
