[SPOILERS] DaveV plays Furia: What, me worry?

Turn 50 state of the empire.

The newest Freak is a mixed bag of good and bad, but he's destined for a Freak Show.

Southern scout is exploring.

Western scout is healing.

Stitch of the known world; Orthus is coming!

Toynbee says we're number 1!

But demographics say otherwise frown.

Number 1 military is not too expensive. I need more workers.

I'm posting city screens because it seems to be standard procedure. I think it's a waste of space.

I love that combination: Diseased, Immune to Disease.

Yeah...I've gotten Light and Heavy on a single unit before...hard to visualize...!

Turn 51. I did some bad fog reading and thought the forest to the scout's southwest was a lake. Fortunately, no barbs popped up to punish me for leaving my scout exposed.

Bartender, make that turn report a double.

Turn 52: exploring in the south, healing in the west.

Turn 53: exploring everywhere! Yay!

Boo.

Orthus didn't last long...

Demos are sad.

Turn 54. My scout is still exploring, still not finding any huts or weak animals. Snore.

Two new freaks were born:

Weak means he's an automatic Freak Show. Mobility means he turns into one more quickly.

Empower I is nothing special. He's basically a vanilla Freak, probably destined to become a Freak Show.

New city will be planted next turn. Lurker suggestions for city names are welcome, if there are any Mad Magazine fans out there.

These reports on the Freaks are amusing.

I moved my western scout NW onto a grassland hill, and found a bear. The other candidate move was SW, which would have had the exact same bear problem. Despite the odds being slightly in my favor (2.5 vs. 2.8), the bear won, and that's the end of my scout. He exposed a lot of land, but didn't find many huts.

Back in the homeland, I built my fourth city. Despite a lot of overlap with the capital, this site has excellent long-range prospects.

Turn 56. No scouts to move, so I have to concentrate on the homelands. I still forgot to rename my new city, though.

Demos stink. I'm still #1 in power even though I don't need an army. "Hello, my name is Dave and I'm a unit-oholic."

And I'm at the bottom of the top 5.
