[SPOILERS] Scooticator and Pindooter give a sporting try

Scooter & I just talked ourselves into reaching for the Rice/Cow next. Orioles is going to turn into a dedicated military pump. And the gems will be settled as our 5th city.

Which means all that planning i did yesterday just went kaput. Good thing I can't go anywhere today, I guess smile

Edit: Also, Commodore caught me in game and asked for peace. Since we're potentially doing an aggressive plant here, I think that's good timing. And if he does something stupid like plant a city in our face we'll go whip ourselves silly to take it.

So I was checking my email and I got a notification for the tech thread this morning. Here's what it says:

Posted by Xenu Wrote:Holy crap at the dyes/gems spot west of Lewwyn's land. Was that intentional or a resource hand misc...

And of course the dumb email notifications by MyBB don't give you the full post, but rather cut off right there. Anyway, I imagine that post was promptly deleted judging by the tech thread, but still kinda funny. I don't think that affects us much, as that's much too far away from us. However, it sure would be nice if Lewwyn and Azza (and/or Nakorester!) got into a slapfight over that region.

I'd save the Great Wall for a city where we need to pop borders. lol That gold/ivory/fish spot is awfully nice...

There's still a couple water tiles near the marble that can potentially have seafood, we should check that just to be sure. And also possibly some jungle food within range to the southwest.

I think I've got a good plan in place for workers setting up the Rice/Cow city and Orioles, but I'm still trying to figure out how to speed up the settler for gems. Right now it completes end of t70 in the capital, but we do build a pair of workers in Red Wings & the capital first, so that's a plus.

Rice/Cow city will likely go Granary -> Lighthouse -> Galley. We can get the galley done on t76 in the Rice city like that. Which is probably going to be faster than a galley from the capital completed on turn 69 (the previous plan).

Well if you want circumnav, two galleys would be good to have.

Yes, one from the capital (finishes t69, heading east) and another from the Rice/Cow city going west.

Which timeline sounds better for the capital?

1. worker (t64), galley (t65), settler (t70). 6 workers total at t70

2. settler (t65), galley (t70). 5 workers total aty t70

I think #2 could work, but we'd need to make some workers right away. The problem with being as spread out as we're looking at being is it is harder to move workers between cities.

I think we talked about this last night, but I'm honestly fine with pushing for #2. I think we can make it work.

Also, I won't be able to play the turn until late tonight, so if you can grab it before then, definitely go for it.

In favor of #1 but I don't have as much information as you guys.

Agree on both parts of that statement.
