I'll do it when I get home.

The lack of iron hindered me pretty badly. It was very funny that I popped iron on the same turn I culture bombed my city to grab it from Zak' borders (which I did stupidly forgetting that Zak would just pillage the damn thing).

I also stupidly didn't revolt to Vassalage in the last turn of my GA, sticking with Bureau.

But worst of all was losing one of my best cities (albeit it was a bad one without water tiles to use) to a naval attack by only 2 (?) galleys.

In the end, I was just waiting for Zak to eat my cities. I was whipping what I could, but the geography made it very hard to defend, since the catapults would take quite a bit of time to reach north or south.

Looks that way. I PM'd you last night prior to some of these responses. All in all, I think ending is probably best.

Is anyone interested in sending around some comparison saves? I'm curious to see how things developed elsewhere.

Ok, I logged in to the tracker account and went ahead and downloaded the saves I wanted to look at to my dropbox account so I could look at these later when I'm not at work. I'll put them here for everyone's convenience. I encourage any constructive criticism you guys can provide. I was straining pretty hard in this game to keep up with you guys and I think that's why I burned out toward the end. Definitely fighting above weight class here. smile

I don't really have a comprehensive post-game analysis. It was a great crowd to be playing in, and the game was action-packed and well matched.

Zak would in all likelihood have won since he should be able to wrest control of the western hemisphere, while Boldly and I were still just butting heads. Also with his wonders and better traits.

I think my main mistakes were losing Pita, Ball and Papa. If I had been more vigilant I may have been able to hang on to those, and that might have been enough to eke out a win. My early expansion may have been excessive too, but my economy wasn't as tanked as it appeared, I was surprised myself how quickly it rebounded with some loving care (and military slaughter). I think my best move in this game was initiating large-scale ancient age warfare... Normally not a winning move but Zak was on the verge of becoming a monster runaway with his impressive opening (whose details this margin was unfortunately too narrow to contain.)

So thanks for the game, everyone, and thanks for extending its life span, Ichabod.

P.S. In future games I would prefer to play with circumnavigation and blockades disabled. smile
