Yeah, I liked that rego endgame too. The black queen carefully prevents the white pawn from queening, and every five moves or so, forces the white king onto the pawn's queening square, gaining a vital tempo to move the black king closer until they can capture the pawn together.

I've seen people not being able to win an endgame a Queen and Rook up because they kept checking the king in the middle of the board. Luckily for us David is winning anyway so we would have won the match anyway.
