Yeah, the NG++ vids are pretty intimidating with all the projectiles everywhere and all enemies in their strongest upgraded versions. But I want to beat NG+ at least, and then give NG++ a shot. I am getting closer...Khidr and Alexander slain on NG+, and I just had back-to-back runs for 60K and 51K gold so the upgrades are really stacking up. Just found the Dragon Cape for +2 vampirism, a nice upgrade. If only I could find a better sword -- I have Royal and Slayer items found for every other slot, but no sign of a sword from the fifth column yet. Sullla's comments in his archmage vid about swords seeming to have a lower drop rate than other items certainly seems true from my experience.
On the fountain from Sullla's most recent vid, just how much health and mana does a fountain restore? Regular chicken/flask drops are 10% (upgradable to 15%), but I don't know how much a fountain gives.

RogueWiki says it's about a double-chicken/double-flask, so ~30%. So almost 400HP?

Just completed NG+ with a massive run by Lady Faye IX, a barbarian queen. Complete clear of the entire dungeon (castle, forest, tower, and basement) for the first time, killed Herodotus and Ponce DeLeon, then finished off Johannes and the Fountain. Stacked up 152,751 gold and picked up several items of equipment including (finally!) sword upgrades with the Royal sword (from beating the clown's challenge) and the Dark sword (from a chest in the Calypso's Compass treasure room). Would have been nice to have them earlier, but at least they finally showed up. Need four more equipment blueprints and I will have all 22 achievements.
Now for NG++. I suspect my mighty barbarian queen may find a swift death at this difficulty level, but this has already been by far the best run I have ever managed in Rogue Legacy. Onwards!
Was I imagining things or were Johannes and the Fountain kind of underwhelming compared to Ponce DeLeon and some of the other challenges faced in NG+? I finished the Fountain with three of Johannes' chicken drops still waiting to be used. When I faced the final fights for NG, I recall them being much tougher than anything I had faced up to that point. Sort of puzzling.
Also, does anyone know what Hermes' Boots do? I have gotten this a couple times and have no clue what advantage (or disadvantage?) it gives.

Regular floor spikes can be walked on.
It does not prevent damage from wall or ceiling spikes or prevent spike traps from triggering and causing damage, like P.A.D. does.

Thanks, Gustaran! That's actually pretty darn useful. Wish I had known, so I could have taken advantage of the ability.

Yeah, it would be cool if there was some information in the game how certain items work, I understood neither the glasses, the boots nor the compass correctly the first time I got them (I didn't know I had to press "up" at the compass target spot).
Did you know that the Nerdy Glasses will help you to find the correct chest in the 3-chest-minigame?

Well I finally got my last achievement and then accidentally gave charon 130,000 gold x_x because I got distracted with my achievement and forgot to spend my money.
Also, the wiki for Rogue Legacy has the save format (its encoded in hex):

Did anyone want to get together and make a editor to make the single class challenges work better?

Congrats on the achievements, but ouchie on the money.
Two more items to go for me to have all achievements. Still missing the Dark helm and Dark cape.
NG++ is brutal. Projectiles everywhere. Normal heirs are tough enough, but when I had an heir with gigantism (all other choices were worse).... It was just awful. Died real quick that time. But even with an heir with decent traits/spell/class, you can get rooms that are just total death traps. I had one with three chain-spike-ball guys, two of the big sword guys (Graydiators?), a pair of the red flying eyes (Infernites, I think?), plus three of the ninja guys -- all in a straight low-ceiling room with no where to jump or dodge, no different heights to use for blocking or cover. And this was the very first room in the castle! Took almost 700 points of damage getting through that room, then had multiple flying mages in the next room. That poor heir didn't make it past that second room.
With all opponents being the max upgraded versions, luck really plays a bigger role. What room layouts and enemies you get can make the difference between easy (-ish), tough but do-able, and horrific damage pretty much guaranteed. I currently get back 17 health (and 9 mana) per kill, but I can't really build back up after taking significant damage even in the castle. If I can find a boss door while still being reasonably strong I can kill them -- Herodotus and Khidr are dead. But generally if I can even reach the boss doors I am too damaged to make an attempt. I suppose I could use the architect, but that feels like cheating.
For an impulse buy I picked up on sale for under $10, Rogue Legacy has been an amazingly fun game. Have these devs done anything else? I haven't bothered to read all the stuff under the big pictures (the ones that are actually pictures and not a mini-boss), just not the right time or place for that stuff in the middle of a run.

They made that pooping game.
Also, barbs with max HP and +4MP Siphon break NG++.

I don't know if they "break" NG++, but barbarians can at least survive a while. 1500+ health is pretty nice to have. But not all barbarians have useful spells to actually get value from their mana -- some are definitely much stronger than others.
Archmages can be a ton of fun, with their additional inate siphon pulling in tons of free mana to keep the spells flying. Spellswords can be even better at that, but again they need to have a useful spell. Archmages generally have at least one and sometimes more good spell options. Kind of fragile, though, especially with how much damage everything does at NG++.
