[Spoilers] Fintourist and Old Harry have nothing to see here

Btw, it's nice to see that the Library in Cannae is already producing us 6 beakers per turn when tech is on thumbsup

Apart from the early tech mechanics confusion, not getting AH before Writing is possibly the biggest smoke we have done so far. Consequently, you are Hydra raising a very important issue. lol I think we will get AH after Calendar.

How about researching Iron Working before Currency? We've used the extra hammers we got while waiting for Currency for military and expansion so it's not a total waste, but having the choice to build wealth before now would have been nice. Sailing before Currency was a good move - France pays for itself, but I'd argue Sailing-Currency-IW-Calender would have given us a better tech rate...

Although if we'd gone straight to Currency I'd have been tempted to lose out on Confucianism to Lewger. alright

Yep, direct beeline to Currency and then getting IW + Calendar quickly would probably have been superior. Originally I thought that we could afford to delay Currency and keep a decent tech rate a little longer supported by higher happy cap and calendar resources, but yeah.. Well, if our operation agains suttree succeeds I think we are still in a workable position. please

Thanks for the overview, just what I wanted. Forgot you/we didn't research AH. Does he have it/horses?

I've no idea about AH, but Suttree's only got one classical tech, which I'm pretty sure was maths, so he might have chariots, but no horse archers just yet.

I thought the same thing about IW-Calender, but I'm going to pretend it was all your fault Fintourist.

Ok, that's good to know, thanks.

Turn 91

Someone is trying to tell us to make Agincourt the bureaucapital...

Ichabod's work boat stayed still and Mardoc encounters a spear. Unpromoted he gets 93% odds, with Drill I he gets 94%, with Combat I he gets 97%.

Our strike force is in position. Your suggestion "or here?" looks like the better tile to attack from - it means we can put the settler on the x? next turn if we're confident. The settler stayed in Dunkirk and the warrior is in a nice flexible position. What do you think of offering Suttree peace for that city after we move in next turn? It doesn't get the rice, but 100 hammers for free isn't bad.

Whipped BoP and Gallipoli this turn, we could whip France for 30 hammer overflow (it hasn't really got any tiles to grow onto yet) into a worker, an axe or spear?

Up north we have a chop coming into Endor next turn - we could put it into a worker or finish the spear and overflow to another worker or finish the spear and overflow to finish another spear or axe? Exploring doesn't reveal much, but the axe is bothering dtay, which is nice.

I didn't end turn as Mardoc needs a promotion. I'll give him CI in about an hour unless you have an objection?

Edit: Ended turn and gave Mardoc CI, if he wins he'll be on 5XP so could take Melee or Cover. We'll probably have until this evening to whip France, the alternative is to work the forest too next turn and whip a unit the turn after.

Let's get C1! nod

Yeah, that tile gives us a better vision of suttree's reinforcements, but on the other hand it gives him a better chance to counter us if we end up with wounded bowmen/axeman.. Hmm..

Yeah, that city fits really awkwardly into our dotmap and will be harder to defend than our original location, but you are correct, 100 free hammers justifies quite a lot. Let's make this decision next turn!

Let's not whip it just yet. Working forest for 1 turn is not that bad. Let's put next turn some hammers into axe or bowman? Then we whip it when the city is about to grow to size 4 and after that we might want to build a worker at size 3?

Quote:Up north we have a chop coming into Endor next turn - we could put it into a worker or finish the spear and overflow to another worker or finish the spear and overflow to finish another spear or axe?

I think we want those hammers to go into a worker. Whether through overflow from spear or directly I'm not yet sure. I'll check the situation and give my comments.

Exciting times! How are your weekend plans? I will travel to Sweden and be away from computer from Thursday evening to Sunday morning. This trip comes to a really unpleasent time considering this game, but luckily I should still be around during the most critical turn (T93).

More tourism? smile I'll be able to play at the weekend. I just can't guarantee no mistakes! (For instance missing that the silver appeared last turn... bang)

Have thought about Endor a bit - I think we complete the spear and grow next turn, then start a worker...

Will leave France alone and gave Mardoc the promo. popcorn

I have a lot of trust in you. I hope that they have wireless somewhere so that I can check the situation and comment from my phone.. We travel with a ship so it might be complicated though..

I believe that this is the right approach. smile
