Also, I really wish the GUI would let me step through moves for those of us that can't visualize. I have to go setup a board at home before I can make my move...

Isn't there something called Analysebrett (well ne clue what it is called in English) which allows you exactly that?

Or does that only work for spectators but not for players?

yep ... pressing analyze can do it

The good news is the analyze button worked, the bad news is I really f'd up the previous move and there is no great recovery that I could find.

Also our undefeated match record may be in trouble unless we can pull off some magical chess, what with nearly everybody giving up 200-300 points!

The way to win in that situation is have your worst player play their best player (if that's possible). Those matches are tossed, but the remaining matches you get an edge.

Actually looking at the ratings their worst player would be our second best player, so...best of luck .
