This came up in Dr. Nomadic's thread, but let's bring it out here.
Anyone interested in a Final Frontier mod succession game? Thanks to Cyneheard for the idea. RB has done a few other mods as SGs (Defense, Charlemagne, Rhye's) but not FF yet. I just started playing FF myself, so I'll take the reins here to captain it.
So, any interest? Cyneheard gets an automatic signup.

I'd be interested -- have barely touched FF at all, but have been meaning to get around to it

When did RB do Rhye's? It's not listed on the succession games list.
I consider myself signed up, then.

Not very nice things at that, though he is right. Rhye´s and Fall is a good concept but horribly executed. Whilst historical goals are fun, the whole spawning thing is terrible.
Edit: Wow, disappearing armies, even better.
Anyway, sorry for the off-topic comments.

I haven't played the scenario but I wouldn't mind a slot if there's one available. Also I don't think I've been in a SG with you T-Hawk before - it would be fun to play in a team captained by you.

Seconded, TAD. Spawning could be handled so much better. The Great Depression + Congress thing were really lame, IMO. It's too hard to simulate the entire world in a way that's fair to the players, realistic, and transparent.
This is why I found myself disappointed with the EU series (including HOI and Victoria. Victoria's the worst for over-simulating and under-explaining, I think. The first of each month, your units that are in foreign territory lose like 20% of their strength. So in a war, on the 1st of the month, you move out every last one of your armies, so that they capture the new province in time for the next 1st of the month to roll over...). Too much "have to simulate everything perfectly", too little "letting the player play". At least Rhye's isn't that different micro-wise than the regular game.
Ok, back on topic. We probably need a total of 5 players for an FF game?
Small or Standard map fits 8 players well (and I assume we want 1x of all the leaders). A small map with very dense stars will average like 4-6 worlds per civ, standard somewhat more.

We've got 4 players (myself, Cyneheard, Olodune, and sooooo.) That's enough to play if we don't get another.
Timmy827, are you reading? You had lots of insight in the other mod SGs and I'd love to have you along for the ride here.
sooooo, we probably haven't played before. Most of my SG activity was in Civ 3. I got into both Civ 4 and BTS late after the bulk of RB succession game activity, and have only played a couple.
Very dense stars? Reading over other FF threads, it seems that everybody only likes the denser options. I don't mind the sparse universe - space is BIG, you know, and it makes for a different feel to standard Civ. But we'll talk about game settings in our game thread at CFC.

Ok. My handle's mojoqmeyvam in CFC, so don't be surprised that you never see Cyneheard over there.
Map size goes hand-in-hand with feature selection.

I'm sorry to say this guys, but I think I should get at least one game of Final Frontier done by myself, so I will not be joining this succession game. My first one will be when I get three more games of Civ4 done, and then I'll see about later.
Civilization IV sure runs like a dream on my new computer.
