[Spoilers] Fintourist and Old Harry have nothing to see here

Yeah, that cost us something like ~5 food and ~5 commerce and the costs that come from possibly growing later in the future.. frown I switched tile assignments so that Cannae can still grow eot102 to size 8. Gallipoli needs to either borrow rice from Dunkirk next turn or delay it's growth until eot103. But enough from whining, back to other stuff.. crazyeye

If they had stone it may have been an ok investment although I'm one of those that see Fin+Pyramids quite anti-synergistic. Anyways, with FIN+ORG+Rep scientists they have definitely enought tools for building an economy

Quote:The island of france is a lot bigger than we thought, and here is another candidate to get Lord Parkin to Woody II...

We could move him to that forested plains hill W-SW and he could kill the axe supported by river attack penalty, WI and +75 % tile defense bonus?

Quote:On the war front we could add Ceiliazul and THH to our threatening force. Promo-healing THH to CII gives him 82 Hit Points and a 62% chance against an axe on flat ground, giving Ceil Shock gives him 96 HP and a 68% chance.. Meanwhile with CII Viqsi gets 90% odds and BRick gets 31% odds. If we're going all out to steal the two workers we might as well add Mero (who would heal to 63 HP and get 12% against an uninjured axe.)

Yeah, I think we can add those units. Suttree should not be able to sneak a force past us. We can probably wait with promoting until next turn, but if you want to do that already that's fine for me.

Quote:So I think we should move all of them down and offer peace again (for world map this time?)

Agree with this! smile

Quote:Meanwhile Yossarian can't get around TBS,

We could of course uncover the coast in order to get trade routes with him so that we can open borders when we get Alphabet? Another option is to trade maps and then open borders.

Quote:one of the workers has moved to the hill east of Jamestown to chop (then mine). The other will put a turn into a cottage SE of Jamestown, then move to do the corn unless you think that's a bit risky and he should chop on the other hill?

I think the optimal way to play this is to move the other worker next turn onto the other hill. Then those 2 workers will chop the granary, which finishes nicely when the city has ~half a food box full at size 2. If we simplify a little bit that more or less doubles the value of our food surplus (from +6 to +12). Then we can move on to farm the corn supported by a spear and start cottaging/mining.

Quote:Down south m_h rejected our open borders offer, either he's already got foreign trade routes (Ichabod?) or he just doesn't like us... I moved BaII away and we can re-offer.

The fact that we did not have trade routes until last turn means that he has not defogged a trade route to us and m_h probably knows that the trade route income would only by one-sided. Again world map + open borders could work, but I'm not sure we want to give our map..?

Quote:Up north I followed your sign to build a cottage for Issy, I had him chopping forest into a lighthouse for France, then cottaging the river, but another tile for I is good.

Actually I ment that both workers would have built that cottage, I think you started mining that hill? Now the City I will be 1 turn longer without a 2nd tile improvement and France has to work unimproved tile at size 4 for one turn, but that's not too bad since 2/1 forest tile is still ok. So I think we just finish those improvements and then the worker on the hill will put a 2nd turn into forest chop and help then cottaging the tile S of France? The other worker can stay and support Isandlwana, maybe chop a WB if we are going for that site close to slowcheetah.

Quote:Power - the fall is disapointing...

Quote:Hope the presentation went well!

3 hours sleep, taxi to company site, 3 hour meeting, 1 million euro saved and back home to civ.. lol

About the iron spot. If we go for "another x" we should immediately chop two forests into granary while growing on unimproved rice tile. Granary boosts the effectivity of that tile in the same fashion as with Jamestown example and while the city starts pretty slow it will get going. Gallipoli kind of wants to keep that banana tile..

Here is an updated sandbox.

And here is my suggestion for T102 micro.

Main notes:
1. The worker N of Endor should waste a worker turn and move S-SE-S. The new worker born in Endor should put one turn into chopping dyes. That way we can improve bananas already eot103 at Dunkirk as the two workers that pastured the cow start the job during T102 (finish chop & 1/5 plantation).
2. Dunkirk should whip a worker, it frees up the rice tile for Gallipoli, which can then grow to size 4 as planned. Improved banana (as described above allows Dunkirk to grow back to size 4 in two turns with +7 food surplus.
3. Endor could start a new settler? Another option is to grow to size 5 in three turns while building wealth or something. However, this starts a chain reaction: Endor takes fish from capital --> Capital takes fish from BoP --> BoP's growth slows down/stops. This might be okay though since I think we could gror Agincourt also to size 8 after it finishes the settler. (note that the -1 food surplus tile assignment in Agincourt during T102-T105 is just enough to finish the settler with 100/100 hammers and Endor can work the fish if it wants.

I'm too annoyed (and at work) to log in at the moment - can you do this?

Nah.. I need to calm down too! lol There is still 14 hours in the clock, so there's no rush, I'll let you do the movements when you come back or I'll do them a bit later in the evening. But don't mess with my tile assignments! wink

And now, let's just forget about this, what's done is done and it's not the end of the world! alright We just keep pushing and planning ahead, and try to make the most out of our situation! Let's win this damn game. hammer

Advice if cancelling worker actions is causing you to forget what's been done: always put a sign down on the tile showing the amount of progress. Or maybe play with tile yields on so you can see if it's been improved?

Thanks THH, until recently I was following the spreadsheet, but I hadn't written the last few turns up as the war throws everything up in the air... rolleye I'll try the marker method and see how long before all the signs start to annoy me.

Moved the army and promo-healed THH to 3.7/5 and Celiazul to 2.9/3.

Sent a peace treaty with a map demand to Suttree and ended turn.

Hey actually I calculated wrong here. If we whip the worker in Dunkirk wasting that worker turn as described in "bullet 1" is not necessary! That worker could just move S-SE and pre-cottage for one turn and support then in getting dyes online! However, if we are not whipping the worker, then coming south to bananas as quickly as possible is necessary.

Suttree retreated his workers and moved his 3 axes onto the same staging tile where he started his aggression last time.
I think we'll move our units back to our zone defense jungle tile. If we had couple of chariots in the area they could now slaughter suttree's axes quite nicely.. crazyeye
