He has 4 workers there so he'll have it done 'soon' I'm thinking we should see about settling those positions SE of NN along the coast soon because I think Munro is serious about building up that civ.

Hmm. Can you post a screenie of that area, and note what units we have (workers and military) please? I feel like doing a little bit of MM for once.

You lost AB? To a barb?
OK, we're poor. I think sacrifice the SE to Munro. Also, don't build workers/settlers. Grow and slave them out, it's the most effective way to buikld them.

Yup I certainly screwed up there Units are stretched pretty thin on that side. I just got 4 WE moved over there to help bolster things a bit, took a while to move them from central west territory. Will need to build up a couple defensive units soon as nobody likes having an elephant guarding their door (makes it hard to get out).
dsp to NUTA Wrote:Oops, I was thinking we needed Guilds to get Gunpowder, but if Kodii can send me Education then we don't. Too bad I spent one turn of research on Guilds now.
Kodii, can you send me Education?
Shadyforce, what are you researching?
Too bad we wasted that turn of research.
to regoarrarr Wrote:Hey,
Just wanted to say congrats on the war so far. From what I've been hearing through grapevine is that you've been surprising them with the fight you've been managing to put up which is good to hear. My unit down that way hasn't noticed anything worth mentioning heading at you but there's only so much he can spot at any given time.
Good Luck!

Thanks!
I think that things are going well, which I'm basing off of the criteria that I haven't lost a city! :-)
I did lose a mace attacking a rogue Impi (on a forested hill) but cleaned him up afterwards.
Not sure what is going to happen next - they seem to have retreated for now but I'm keeping vigilant.

AA: will finish Notre Dame next turn, will finish a missionary after that.
II: whiped a settler goes from size 8 to 6
CC: will finish a forge next turn
The barb archer died attacking the chariot up there. Axeman bar threatening workers in northern pass but have an elephant to take care of it.
sunrise Wrote:Hi Yaz,
Since you're probably in position to smash me once our NAP ends, I wanted to be forthright about some possible settling plans and get your thoughts.
There is a huge space of no resources in between my northern border and your empire. There are several hill tiles between 6-8 tiles east of Lin Lost that might make a decent border city for me. Do you have plans to settle that area? Would any tile in the great no-resource expanse be considered Yaz territory?
Thanks for any info!
-sunrise Will need to come up with a reply to him on this.
to Munro Wrote:Hey Munro,
Nice to see you're breathing some life back into your empire since you've taken over, unfortunately it's brought our orders right smack up against each other and it looks like I'll probably never get the cow back which attracted placing a city in that location. In the interest of our continued alliance and positive relations I think it would be good to decide together what more we'll settle in that general region to avoid more close borders and possible tensions that could cause from that.
There are two locations there I would like to settle to the east of your border town and do have settlers that could be sent there though I'd prefer not to settle there right this instant in a rush against an ally to try and steal land from them. In the interest of peace though I'm willing to give up one of the spots I planned (though maybe you were planning slightly different positioning depending on your other city placement) to help keep some buffer room between our people.
I would like to settle a position 2 N of the rice tile and have claim to the rice.
What I'd propose is you can then settle the location 2W 1N of the fish tile south of that rice. I'm not certain how that works for your placement but I believe it would be a rather good coastal city and allow each of us some breathing room
Let me know your thoughts.
-Yaz Would prefer to squeeze one more city down there but don't want to try if we're just going to have a culture battle again (not much chance of me winning that). Plus I'd prefer to resettle AB and just have that location reserved for now. That way I can reblock off that north area to undo the silly mistake of losing a city which I'm still not certain how I missed and the log is no help either

I'll add that I've noticed Dreylin sending units off through sunrises territory near our borders, presumably to the war fronts on the other side. I've sent the following to NUTA though it's not much info. Will need to consider sending units to help even the odds perhaps as neither war seems to be moving forward at all. That or perhaps if lin and sunrise weaken themselves via donations too much it may make sense to break the nap and take advantage of the situation.
Quote:For those of you at war I figured I'd pass along that Dreylin has been
moving some units south and east into, and presumably through,
sunrise's territory. I would assume they're going to the wars down
that way though I can't be sure exactly to whom they will be going as
I can only see their norther border. There weren't too many (4 in
total though I may not have seen others (couple of elephants & cat)).
Sorry not much info but better than not passing it along.
Have we decided on who's researching what and what our path will be
for our lib pop?

Personal (belonging only to meself/accent) opinions: Don't break an agreement, and don't ever plan for an oppenent breaking an agreement. This allows maximum growth (so long as you don't lose cities to barbs...I think you are smart enough to pay attention to that lesson now) and diplomatic advantages. use them to your advatnage. Also, so long as we are part of an alliance, we are playing fine. Keep everything else balanced, and grow...
PS. what happened to the attack on regaorrarr?

Going of memory for the sunrise border, because I can't find a picture of it...
Tactically speaking I wouldn't have any problem, so long as he settles a city at least 4 tiles away from ZZ. we obviously don;t want to say just how screwed up the GNP is, though. Play a longer term negotiation with him, maybe saying that we are more than happy to work with the Lins and him long term, so long as both the NUTA and UTA have split by then (so long as the world reforms into 3 factions, that's good for us, as it were). OTOH...play the diplo hard ball, and see where you end up...you can always play me as the bad cop...
Also, pick a city to use the NP in. Originally I thought the iron city would be a good choice, but you kinda chopped that into oblivion, so maybe the city next to it would be good? Or a resettled AB, but that would require a GE?

Also, we can win a culture battle so long as we have plenty of workers, the settlers, and 1 missionary/city (and guard units) ready asap. Chop the Terrace, monastary and then the theatre, and we aren't going to lose...he doesn;t have that many workers, and I don't think he knows we owe him 2 settlers and 2 workers...(and don't tell him!)
