[SPOILERS]The Tyrant realizes that once the world burns it gets really boring....

I didn't see the game so I can't say specifically, but yeah, that's not a good performance. In guessing they weren't properly prepared on stopping the triple option offense Georgia Southern ran, and that's on the coaches. Then again, i haven't seen the same effort from the defense lately asp there's a problem there too. More hurt players means less depth and fresh bodies are important in stopping a determined rushing attack. With all that said there's no excuse, injuries or not. I read that GSU was missing 19 of its 65 scholarship players for the game so they fought through injuries to win against better players. So that puts the onus back on coaching and effort. Terrible season, it's so bad I wasn't even shocked they lost that game. Previously there is no way it could have happened.

Will be interesting to see if Muschamp survives this awful loss. But again, unless you know you can hire someone better I don't think you can fire him.

T207 - Not as much growth this time. Slowly making our way through Printing Press, will make it to Rifling some day. Or maybe we'll be carved turkeys by then.

Going to grow Tyler twice more and then run a bunch of specialists.

It was a mistake to have not settled the filler city already, as it could have been growing on cottages all along. I'll build it one of these days, probably when someone isn't building wealth. Or Tyler can build it with food before finishing out its growth, although I want the new city to grab the rice as soon as possible to get started. Wait, I'm trying not to care about this game, never mind any of this. (update: I failed at not caring this turn, taking an hour to play. Damnation!)

Empire wide we're only working a handful of mines or workshop tiles, basically only where we're trying to finish a building that will allow those tiles to be better used running specialists, or for some other specific and obviously better reason (like getting the bank in our shrine city, or a library in a growth capped border city that can only use spare workshops right now). Anyway, that's the general objective, work as many specialists as possible, like we should have done with representation all along.

Techs. Oxy has amassed a pile of cash despite his huge expenses. Is that for a run at a cultural victory? lol (Nope!)

Demos, with more and more food.

Also we'll lose #1 in power next turn I'm sure. William has gone whip and draft crazy. I should be worried. But I don't care. If I cared I'd probably have moved the phract stack closer to the William border, but there's no point, he knows what we have. So if he moves in he's counting on a lot of his stuff dying anyway. I'll get busier exploring him next turn and keep eyes on his building stacks, if they're on the mainland where they can be found. Or maybe I'll not do that next turn in the interest of trying to get a turn done in under 15 minutes. Yeah, that sounds better, actually. nod

Also, we'll probably go over 20k thread views tomorrow. Impossible! Imagine how much traffic this game forum would get if all of the contenders were actually reporting frequently. Look at us having to drag this lot around, it's terrible! lol Anyway, I'm only kind of irritated by the lack of updates in the other threads. While I'd like to read through them all after the game ends I'll probably be so glad the game is over that I'll just skim them anyway.

Lurkers, which threads are the most interesting here? I imagine Kuro's given the view count and the train wreck it has been following. Probably Sisu(b)'s as well for a similar reason. I think I'll want to start with Suttree's, though, just to view his incredible rise and fall. I want to see first hand how he carved up Sisub and then blew it against Oxy. Anyone got better suggestions for where to start reading (eventually, later, when this is over)? Don't mention anything we haven't mentioned in this thread though, since I'm sure there's stuff in this game we don't know about. Even though it won't help us now we still don't need spoilers until someone ends this game.

Problem is, USC is gonna be looking (though they should keep Orgeron IMO), and Texas is potentially looking. That's 2 bigger prestige schools that could nab top candidates before Florida does, and they'd be taking the chance of getting someone unproven.

Don't want Orgeron, he wasn't good at Ole Miss. Don't want someone unproven, didn't work with Zook, hasn't worked yet with Muschamp. There's enough good proven coaches out there that someone should want the job, and the boosters have the money to get someone good. But I don't think Orgeron is the guy.

No, no, I was saying USC should keep Orgeron. He's got the team there all fired up and looking infinitely better after Kiffen, they should give him a full year or two there.

I don't think so, but I don't care about USC one way or the other anyway. If he was mediocre to bad at Ole Miss how much better could he really be at USC? That's a top five or top ten job and program, they should be able to get a proven winner once they're done with their sanctions. I don't think Orgeron is a top ten coach or he'd already be a head guy somewhere else.

Go get a young, on the rise NFL assistant coach with proven chops and recruit NFL talent before FSU takes everyone. Put in an NFL system and make your team attractive to top level talent. Florida has the scimitars and prestige to be competitive. It's a travesty what your guys are doing down there. Maybe even a coach that has been making the Rooney Rule interview circuit. That would be better than Muschamp, who in my book is more Kiffen than anything else. Kiffen sucked at everything. At least Zook could recruit. Looking at the NFL-ready talent in Tallahassee, you guys are losing the recruiting battle terribly.

I think Muschamp is recruiting well on defense, but the coaching isn't there, especially on offense.

Also, I don't think getting an NFL guy is the way. They need a proven college coach who is a proven recruiter and has shown an ability to develop talent. That last part has been kind of missing, too.
