RB Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Speaker and Sullla

RefSteel Wrote:You could run some kind of test game to confirm this, but I think if you move your warrior onto the spices in question, then if he moves there and then declares war (including by attempting to move into your borders[?]) while both warriors are on the sme tile, his warrior will be teleported away from yours, in the direction of his lands, and its movement expended.

That's not possible because one declares war before moving.

Speaker Wrote:There won't be a double move. Sullla is just explaining it incorrectly. We'll want to log in next turn before Dantski and move our warrior right away, but wait to end our turn. Then we'll make sure to be the first to move the next turn, and move to safety. The turn order of the warriors is preserved.

This does sound a bit differntly than the previous plan wink but I'm glad to hear it.

It *IS* a different plan, and I don't feel the need to defend a non-war, non-settling race double move. It's simply part of the game when you have Multiplayer. However, due to the objections raised here, we're going to try to do things the way Speaker outlined above... since you all asked so nicely. [Image: tongue.gif]

Keep in mind that I'm not omnipotent though, and I don't spend every minute of every day watching Civstats. If the turn rolls over and Dantski logs in immediately, then yes, we may end up moving our warrior twice in a row. That's life.

Just that if Dantsky moves towards your capital/threaten it it wouldn't be a non-war situation any longer wink

For the unfriendliness or rudeness I do apologize it sprung not only from my lack of knowledge of the english language but also from the surprise about your plan.

If you are intentionally not ending your turn now, then you forfeit the right to complain about anyone else ever doing so...

Hey, we can complain about anything we want. It's our first amendment right. But, you, the reader, also has the right to ignore our complaints. smile

Anyways, it's a lot different to wait until everyone finishes and then promptly flip the turn so you can go first the next turn, than making everyone wait hours every single turn.

plako ended the turn for Team Korea, and so I was able to jump into the game and play our turn a mere 15 minutes after the timer started! Nice break of fortune there. Here's our situation:

We finished Agriculture research, and Workers A and B started farming the wheat. Chamberlain has moved onto the cattle tile. We expect Dantski to move along the red arrow onto the spices, then we make sure to go first next turn and move Chamberlain NW along the yellow arrow. That's actually not an abuse of turn order at all: we move first this turn (T23), then Dantski moves second. We move first next turn (T24), Dantski moves second again. But yes, T-Hawk, we do need to end our turn last to make sure that *WE* don't get double-moved by Dantski, intentionally or unintentionally.

You guys have been surprisingly snippy over this issue... crazyeye

Internationally, athlete got the score points (as expected) and we can deduce that their capital has 8 land tiles in the second ring. Along with the prior score increase, we now know that athlete has a total of 17 land tiles and 4 water tiles in his coastal capital. That's not too bad, but some poor team has 12 land and 9 water tiles at the start - yikes! [Image: eek.gif] We'll know who that is in another three turns.

The other score increase (aside from us getting Agriculture) was sunrise's team landing a tech. Which one? Well, there was a global increase in Soldier points of 2k, which suggests that they researched Hunting or Mining. (Of course it's also possible that they could have researched a tech with no Soldier points and someone could have built a warrior the same turn.) However, because it took sunrise exactly 8 turns to research this tech, the timing matches up very well with Mining tech, and that makes perfect sense in this context, so we'll put them down for Mining. The sunrise team has researched Agriculture, Fishing, and Mining as their first three techs, and very likely started with a build order of Worker/Work Boat. I still think that they will be one of the major forces in this game later on.

Still on track with our own development plan. As for our neighbors:

Quote:(T22) Athens 0/26 food, Worker 14/60 [4 food, 3 shields]

They can whip a worker in 2 more turns, and definitely should do so. We'll see if they choose to do so. If they slow-build the thing to completion, it will take 7 more turns, which would be a really weak opening.

The Excel table has been updated a lot recently, so here's the link again:

I had no objection to your double move. As you said, you are neither at war nor in a settler race. But the pace has picked up, and you played before I could comment smile

Just thought of this... We know from the Demographics that Jowy/Yaz are getting a total of 10 food/3 shields each turn. How does that break down?

Center tile: 2 food/1 shield
Clams/crab resource: 4 food/0 shields
Grassland corn: 3 food/0 shields
Plains forest: 1 food/2 shields
Total: 10 food/3 shields

Or:

Center tile: 2 food/1 shield
Clams/crab resource: 4 food/0 shields
Grassland forest: 2 food/1 shield
Grassland forest: 2 food/1 shield
Total: 10 food/3 shields

The insanity of this system is that if they could pull even one more shield, to get to 4/turn, they would get a bonus shield while building a worker for Expansive. So there are three possibilities here:

- Jowy/Yaz are not building a worker.
- Jowy/Yaz don't have enough forests to reach 4 shields/turn.
- Jowy/Yaz don't know what they're doing.

I know which one I'm hoping for. lol

Dantski has played his turn, Sullla. When you are able to log in, can check out what he did and let me know, please. Thanks.
