Just got through your whole thread. Wow, nice job keeping the posting up in the face of what seemed to be a crippling lack of enthusiasm at times. It was fun to read through (and skip a few pages at times). Good luck on the CV.

T228 - Over the holidays these are long, slow turns. Not much to report here, more of the same. Religions spreading, building temples, etc. We'll finish Sistine this turn, barring a bad coin flip if someone else is completing it. I need to keep an eye on Retep, his power has been growing and I'm seeing a few more galleons parked near the coast northeast of Happy Face. I can't really free up the phract stack from its zone defense role down in the south, given Suttree's presence and Retep's airships scouting the area. We'll need to build out a new defense force for the north, and that's slowly in progress. I've sent a rifle to the western front so that William sees it. The rest will go north to garrison my coastal cities as they're built for a while.




I didn't manage to take a screen shot of it, but I finally built the island city in the southern ocean ice. Probably wasn't worth doing but whatever, we had a settler to use and he'd been sailing for a really long time. Had to let them get off the boats some time.

It was quite a while in between screen shots, I probably changed the numbers by fiddling around in some cities so this difference probably doesn't represent a true contrast, but it's close enough. The city cost me more than it earned me, but maybe that will change as it grows.

Techs, of note is that Retep can research Flight. That won't cause any problems at all, nope!




Demographics - I'm running 50% slider, which is not too far above break even.




Approval rating is low, since my cities are mostly really large and we have a ton of latent whip anger from previous eras of strife, but it's immaterial. We're building tons of temples and we'll have a lot of culture slider running before too long. We'll also probably have a lot more whip anger to go with it, though, so we may need it by the time this is all over.

Any chance retep declares war on someone this turn whenever he gets around to playing? He's waited half a week to play after complaining about people not playing in the tech thread. If he isn't trying to play after anyone in particular (and we're down to William and retep now) then clearly he is tired of playing in this game....

We'd have to play more turns to report more. This game is dying a slow death of holiday boredom. I haven't missed reporting any turns, there just haven't been any. As for a specific date... Hopefully before someone kills us or lands a spaceship, although neither are as likely as the game ending in concession first.

ALT+Q anyone? I've heard of long pauses but I think this turn rolling on beats anything I've ever seen. If I was not disinterested enough to stop playing turns before all this it's getting harder and harder to not say it now. I get holidays and travel, but this is taking it to the extreme, especially when player interest is already as low as it is (and not just mine).

Has anyone taken a concession count yet? I'm willing to end this as soon as we have a majority, plurality, or even enough of a quorum to take a nonbinding vote. After the break I just don't care anymore and want to do something else other than play this game out. I don't really care who we concede to, though if I remember right retep is winning....

Three care, five don't. Of the three who care, how many can tech flight? One, else your reporting sucks. If one can fly (soon), and two cannot, and five more can barely pack dirt into a tube of metal to make it fire rounds (and thus do not matter), of this number how many matter, exactly?

Hint: it is the loneliest number.
