Lewwyn, sad to say, but after some deliberation i've decided to say no to grabbing Trapfinding as a feat ... mainly because there's already half a dozen of ways to get it, the shining example close to your character idea would be Beguiler ... if you'd still go with Bard i'd like you to tick of the spells you have memorized

if you want to tank Lewwyn, the best bets are usually Knight (Players handbook II) or Crusader (From ToB) ... the latter only if you feel strong enough game-mechanic wise through, since its somewhat of a tricky book to handle if you don't know about it

Once I get better armor his tanking ability will increase, but 18AC isn't a bad start.
