[SPOILERS] Dhalphir PB13

Thanks! Serdoa was going to come in and comment at one point, but I think he forgot/got busy.

I wonder if I'll make it to Feudalism before Plako attacks. He has been whipping up a frenzy and is in the last stages of a Golden Age with insane MFG. His power has gone through the roof and I know he has Guilds, so it's probably mostly Knights. I have quite a few Spears, but that's it. Feudalism is due in 3 turns. I can get it down to 2 by selling my world map around the place.

I really don't understand why every other PB was able to maintain some semblance of a turn pace over the holiday break, and was also able to immediately return to a proper daily pace after the end of the holidays, yet this game not only managed ONE turn in two weeks over the holiday break, but also hasn't even managed two full turns in the week since the holidays ended!

I think a large part of it is because it's in the late-game (turns take a long time) and people still care about it a lot so are not willing to phone in turns or leave them to someone else. But of course, which players are in the game matters too. I guess some people have more time in the holidays and others have less time.

Yes, I suppose I should be fairer - for me, playing the turns is relatively easy as I'm not in any wars and am just really spinning my wheels until Plako comes knocking.

I hadn't really considered that we're in the lategame though - it all kinds of blends together after the last six months or so.

At least you're not playing in PB14, where a team has apparently been holding the turn for a month.

Not all games rolled on during the break. PB11 went to an 8 day timer and some people were content to let the timer count down for a week before playing. But yeah it's been a bit more normal since then. Except retep's internet bill needed paying once. lol

Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon

Feudalism will come in next turn. After that it's just a matter of waiting for Plako to roll in with his knights and whip my cities to the ground. I have absolutely no ability to play any sort of tactical game, so it will simply be a matter of whipping constantly. Of course, he will pillage me to kingdom come, and will probably still finish me off, but at least I can make it tough.

I expect Bacchus to jump into the fray as well, but Bacchus only has numidians and axes and longbows will shred those on the defense.

Mechanics question. If I lower my science to make Feudalism two more turns, and queue up archers in each city to one-pop whip them next turn, will they all turn into longbows and complete the following turn when Feudalism comes in?

IIRC, archers upgrade to crossbows in the queue, not longbows. But you should test it.
