There will be a soft reset at the end of the preseason. This means that your league placement will be deleted and you will play a series of placement matches again (including reset k-factor). However, you will not start from 1200 Elo but from something in between 1200 and your current Elo.

That's an overly pessimistic view of things. Starting next week, there is a bunch of new stuff to learn. With the vision changes, support scaling, the changed jungler items and the new jungle, two out of five roles will be quite different and the rest will have to relearn the vision game. I am really looking forward to it.

Also, playing ranked right now is not for naught. Since it's going to be a soft reset, you can play towards your true rating and after the reset you will already be halfway there, instead of at 1200 Elo.

Finally, it's not going to be three months. The LCS resumes in January, and competitive play will actually start in just a month with the relegation/promotion tournament and the Battle Of The Atlantic event. Given that the LCS is always a few weeks behind live, they seem to plan to have their stuff sorted out quite fast. If they have planned correctly (and of course it's Riot we are talking about here...), Season IV could start early January.

Starting MMR doesn't matter smile It will be irrelevant and forgotten after a few days of playing.

Anyone feel dissatisfied with the fact that there is no Winter map? They could have reused last year's map design for snowdown but i'm not sure why.

Did anyone catch the series between Team Coast and the Walking Zed? Really close series and pretty well played by both teams.

Yep amazing games.

Happy about the last one being a stomp too, it was around 6am here by then..

I did the sensible thing (for once) and went to bed after the first game. I watched the rest when I got up this morning. Just as well, as there was a 2 hour delay between game 1 and game 2 while they sorted out various and sundry technical gremlins.

I thoroughly enjoyed the series. The Walking Zed have a couple of very good players. Bischu on his main champions is very scary, although he's not quite so scary on Katarina and Jayce. The series was won from two positions, IMO: jungle and support. Daydreamin was immense on Thresh, hitting hook after hook and generally making good decisions, although he was caught fronting too aggressively once or twice. TWZ didn't have a good read on Nintendude's jungle in any of the games either, which led to some very effective ganks and counterganks. Bobbyhankhill sadly didn't really look the part at AD Carry, which is a shame as he's been around the LoL pro scene since the very early days.

First game in a long time. Got a duo, didn't let them duo bot. Got flamed all the way from champ select till the end of the game, though they also flamed the other team members. I managed to ignore them and play my own game, doing pretty good. After the game, I get a warning from Riot that my behavior isn't in line, that I've been reported for Negative Attitude too much lately.

I now remember why I quit.

That's unfortunate. frown I would recommend playing duo que in ranked since that's 1 less person that will likely rage/report you.

Stories about annoying people in solo queue = stories about bad poker beats = stories about fantasy football losses. Everyone else deals with exactly the same thing as well.

There were 312,000 people watching the North American LCS today on Twitch, and the European LCS also topped 300k earlier this week. The numbers only continue to grow each year, it's amazing how many people keep joining this game.
