[SPOILERS]The Tyrant realizes that once the world burns it gets really boring....

Molach can't hit the stack where it is and iirc he has almost all single move units anyway.

T244 - Logged in, had a trade window from Retep offering to gift us a rice for free.

Uh, sure. Voted on who would be Pope, it's us versus Retep for the Jewish faith. He'll win it because he has more population, but I voted for myself. Molach and Wetbandit have sizeable Jewish cities but I have no shot at winning, not that it matters. (At turn roll, confirmation of results, this means nothing):

We spawned a great engineer this turn, which isn't helpful. We're now sitting on two of them. I really need to swap into pacifism so I can finally begin generating great artists, but we still have a few cathedrals to finish up so need OR. The GEs now uselessly bulb Constitution so I have no idea what to do with them. If we make it to Steel one could be spent on Ironworks, but meh, that's a long time away, if ever.

William picked up Biology, if I'm reading it right (it's late, I might not be). He can research Refrigeration, anyway, so Biology seems likely unless I missed it last turn. William also built Cristo Redentor, which someone escaped discussion in the setup thread. Super retarded that it isn't banned. He swapped into free religion and universal suffrage. Retep swapped into some militaristic civics - theocracy / slavery / nationhood (and is about to finish researching Drama so he can probably build a draft camp). I wonder if offering us the useless rice gift is supposed to make us less wary while he finishes last minute preparations? Who knows, or cares. I can't believe I'm writing a report about this game after midnight.

Molach lost a front city to Wetbandit.

Wetbandit is throwing the house at Molach, looks like a lot of hammers headed off to their deaths, and Molach getting the short end of the land transfer when all is said and done. Have your fun fellas, I don't expect the game will go on all that much longer. This is about the time PB8 ended, for comparison -- 9 turns to go to equal its last turn.

Our land:

Build build, draft draft, suck suck. Globe finishes this turn, that size 9 stinker in the middle. It's been drafted up to the happy cap while building the globe. I'm getting a bit tight on happiness in the cities I don't mind drafting. It'll be drafting off tiles I'd rather keep in larger, slower growing cities soon.

Demographics:

Solid #4? It'll get even solid-er if Wetbandit beats up Molach a bit. And we'll finish out of the money even more convincingly, I guess.

Sorry if the reports suck nowadays, but werewolf is a time consuming game. Who knew?

Solid fourth. I'll take it. If this game were the Tour de France, that'd be a certain podium finish after the drug testing completes. smile

Also, lol at whoever is giving away that many free trade routes. yikes

Closing in on 25k views. We can call the game then, right?

T245 - Retep ended his pouting / catnap with a 2.5 hour login session. I think he's a powergaming asshole, to be honest. The business in the tech thread, the feigned appearance of disinterest in the game -- right. Pretty convenient to schedule that for when you just want to run mass wealth and research builds anyway. He has something other that wealth/research in almost all of his build queues now, and he's paying enough attention that he ran at least one turn with a lot of espionage slider, I guess so we can't see his research (like it matters). Hey, we left tech trading on. I don't care about your espionage slider, sport. Retep just finished flight, he's on to one of the following choices, none of which make a bit of difference to me:

I can't get over how silly the espionage slider is, though. He's in an actual race with William to get through the space ship techs, why waste a turn of cash on slider? Seems like a dumb play to me.

Out west Molach and Wetbandit are slaughtering each other's stacks. I'm not sure why Wetbandit tried attacking with artillery instead of bombers, he may as well have waited at this point. Unless this is a for lulz war, in which case ALT+click the nearest neighbor, and stack attack away. Lots of units died but I'm not counting it up. Just wait a few turns for the graphs.

Map of the empire as usual. More cultural buildings going up, who needs defense. Whatever I build is easily killed anyway. I might as well be Oxy with a bazillion knights against modern units.

Demographics:

Foooooourth. Love that approval rating, do your worthless bit for the empire, dogs. whip Although whoever that is at 51%, that's down to the bone. Well done, sir. bow

And now some cities because I haven't shown them in forever. Optimal, uh, not a chance. But those ghastly 1/2/0 workshops are more hammers than I can get out of 3/0/0 farms (well, unless you count the specialist some of them could have been ages ago). But whatever, I've mostly idled my workers at this point because I'm tired of moving them and it'd be quibbling over minute changes. Not interested in that when capped at FOURTH place. First, the three culture victory target cities (eh, hypothetical CV cities. None will even get a whiff of 25k, nevermind 50k):

Former empire bane, Tyler:

Savior (sort of) of the empire, aka, pwnd by the RNG, former Swamp People:

Seriously the 20th city in the city list, forbidden palace, southern capital, eh...I don't remember its old name now. You could eat it:

Next up, the current #1 and #2 cultural cities, but excluded from CV contention because of their coastal-ness.

The capital, formerly Mister Love. Province 1:

The steady worker of the empire, always sacrificing its own growth for the greater good, old Happy Face. Province 2:

And not that it's interesting in any way now, old I Burn, Province 10. Churning out its solitary defense and waiting to die.

Anybody want to see anything else? Graphs will be interesting in a few turns when Molach and Wetbandit's carnage appears. Other than that this is the same game we've been playing out for the last few months. Can anyone tell my why I wrote a report for this instead of looking at the WW thread? I've probably been lynched by now and last time I was there I was at least 60 posts behind...and that was four hours ago.

Anyway...PB11.

I'm not sure why he dumped EP. He doesn't need city visibility because he can fly missions overhead. Maybe we're not the target and he wants visibility on WilliamLP?

I didn't check the EP count specifically, but we're now 700 EPs behind him to get back the research visibility we lost. It's clear to me that those points were directly spent against us. He probably wants city visibility in addition to the ability to send out scouting flights against our border cities. And I assume he's sending flights out from Suttree's land as well, so he already should have a good idea of our troop positioning in the north, south, and east without having to waste gold running EPs against me. He already knows we're not a threat and that our buildup is defensive from the positioning. I don't see the point unless he's preparing an invasion, which would be incredibly dumb at this point of the game. If he invades he'll kneecap our coastal cities and grab a lot of population, but we'll have everything else whipped into oblivion before he takes cities in a war, starting from turn 2 onward. By the time the cities grow back again it would be too late to contribute to beating William to space, so...I don't know what he stands to gain attacking us at this point. 50 turns ago, yeah, could have made sense. Now? It's a misallocation of resources. He'd be better off building wealth/research to stay ahead in tech, to get a head start building the space ship. Attacking us is just a distraction.
