Its so miserable looking at a board you are sure holds opportunities, but being unable to find them frown.

To have fun. I decided to play this if he answers with e6 even before I moved e5.

Spoiler alert! Spoiler alert! hammer

And stop complaining, lol I just spend 30 minutes on the variation tree of one stupid candiate move and I feel I understand as much about the position as I did 30 minutes ago. I think I will just play the freaking move and see what happens. crazyeye

(You know, we could have played a nice boring QGD orthodox variation and agreed to a draw by move 20, but no, you had to play the benko and create lots of chaos. wink )

Sorry, was empathizing with darrell while talking about how I felt in a prior position. Didn't think that amounted to a spoiler.

I deleted several posts when I realized that all you had to do was not write the "don't stop complaining" and I wouldn't have gotten pissed off. Everything else in your post I agree with and some of it is already in my spoilers about our game . OH MY GOD, SPOILER ALERT

Rowain - Cyneheard

His strong attack resulting from me missing his lightsquared Bishop has come to an end. I have a Knight for a pawn and a free-pawn on the queenside He has a lot of pawns on the Kingside ready to march. I have my doubts about my chances.

Gustaran - Rowain

A Rook endgame where Gustaran has more knowledge more experience and the better position. Maybe I can defend so long that he offers a draw.

Rowain - MJW
Another headache-game. I would love to offer a draw but I'm not good enough to see if it is a draw or not.

Jkaen- Rowain

While he has the initiative currently I'm confident to weather the storm and bring my material advantage to bear.

Rowain- darrelljs
Everytime I look at it I get the feeling I should win this but the road is still long.

Oh c'mon Pindicator, there was a big "lol" smiley in my text. I thought this made it clear I was not seriously critizing your "complaining"? (well, it obviously didn't, sorry about that).

As for our game, why did you resign? The final position is only ~1.1 in my favour.

Crazy facts: Gustaran-Pindicator

After my move 30. Kh1?, the evaluation is -14.76 (depth 24). Yes, minus fourteen. yikes
If anybody wants to try for himself, what is the winning 30th move for Black?

Answer:
30...Bd4! and if now 31. Qb7 as I had planned 31....Bxf3 (threatening mate) 32.gxf3 Re1 33.Kg2 Rg1# mate.
Very pretty, but I don't think it's that obvious. All other variations that avoid the mate lead to a big loss of material.

Then again 39. Qd3! instead of 39.Qe4? would have been +5.5, so I guess we both missed our chances, but I was very lucky to score the full point here.

Do you honestly think I had realistic shot at a draw?  If so then I don't see the plan:  I had lost the initiative, was about to be pushed out of my central positioning, and was now just down 2 pawns and passiving guarding against backrow mate and preventing you from queening a pawn.  Honestly, that the ranking is only -1.1 is surprising to me.  How would you have played it as black?

I spotted Bd4 the move after I should have played it frown  I saw it as a follow-up to get the bishop to an aggressive square and attack your queen, but only when I was looking at that did I realize I needed to play it to keep your queen from defense.  Honestly, Qf2 wasn't on my radar when I played Qd5; I thought I had you there.
