You seem able to read my mind on several different levels!

Oh, thanks Q. No way should Rowain have that many votes, even if I don't like the way he played that. He's not the most scummy option, not even close. In fact, he's pretty clean otherwise.

Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.
1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.
2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.
3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.
4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.
Heh, I keep crossposting with you; the thanks was originally intended for the vote count.

(I'm not sure why you bring that up as I *haven't* been hunting SK or third-party at all, unlike some players here...)
I wasn't saying anything about you, I was commenting on the way you phrased the anti-town part. I guess that's just semantics, to me anti-town means strictly anti-town. I guess you could argue that even scum aren't anti-town by my definition as they're also anti-SK, so I'll drop the matter. I do think scum are the better option in this situation, though. The vigs are already out in the open, they will have a hard time running anywhere later in the game.

Quote:Oh come on, I was taking an amusing dig at Rowain with those posts.
If it was meant as a joke (which I did see in some parts) then it certainly wasn't meant as such primarily, as you use it to accuse Rowain of buddying up to Serdoa to get items. So yeah I certainly saw an undercurrent of jealousy in "he has items and I don't, he must be manipukating Serdoa for them."
It was a dig, an accusation phrased humorously. It was very much an accusation, yes. I was emphasizing the bit about Rowain getting an item for his endorsement, I'm really not terribly fussed about Serdoa not giving me an item.
Quote:A SK acts under the assumption that they will be lynched the instant they are discovered. Therefore their best option is to remain forever in the middle of the pack - too scummy and they will be lynched, too villagery and they may be killed - and thus any attention is bad attention. This doesn't nessecarily mean lurking, but it does mean playing conservatively first and foremost. While I've never played SK myself, the one I always remember is how novice played/was planning to play back in WW17.
I'm not certain who you're talking about or talking to here. Is it Bob, Serdoa, Rowain? What statements have they made that are odd concerning me? (Or, more likely, did you forget who you were replying to? Presuming you mean Rowain as the proposed SK and Serdoa as the person this is addressed to, I disagree. I think he has played very pro-town and that he simply disagrees with the need to claim at this point. But regardless of how you view the recent events, any SK acting as Rowain has been is playing very, very poorly as they are drawing far too much attention to themselves when it really wasn't needed [Serdoa was not in much danger of the lynch, and why would Rowain do that as SK?])
I'm talking about Rowain, and I'm still talking about his statements concerning Serdoa. I'm not sure why I mix up your names, possibly because you're discussing the same topic and you seem to feel quite strongly about it. As for Rowain, I'm pursuing him because of his statement about Serdoa which doesn't add up to me. Same as I've been posting all evening, and I'm sorry I lost track near the end. My argument remains the same: He strongly implied inside knowledge and asked us to not lynch Serdoa for 3 days, then says the next day his reason was that Serdoa didn't feel like scum to him. I think it's a blatant lie, one way or another. I can't easily reconcile it with him being a communist, which leaves serial killer. I'm not married to a vote on Rowain (the reason why I went off it earlier), I'm just frustrated he's being so obstinate about messing up earlier. I can see him being a stubborn villager who refuses to cooperate because he's annoyed, but using that as a reason for not cooperating sets a bad precedent for the game IMO.
I'll switch to someone else and use my power, I'm off for the night.

Agreed. Novice, in particular, is very conspicuous on that wagon.

If he doesn't move, we'll know for sure that scrubbing doesn't show up as a night action. And Bob will be discouraged from shooting, since he doesn't know how it works either.

If you don't plan on killing someone; investigating yourself would be a better idea.
