Also I'd appreciate it if one of you would check over that plan.

If you're worldbuildering those enemy cities' culture, you're probably getting very wrong results. Take a tile next to a 40% (with 200 culture, say) city. That tile has 100 culture on it guaranteed - but it also has another +20 culture for every turn that the city has at 10+ culture (and still producing at least 1 per turn). And make that +40/turn once the city passes 100 culture. If you set the culture in WB, you probably only gave that tile 100 culture or a bit more.
I don't know of a good way to to do an accurate sim, sorry. But in real life culture bombs are pretty much useless for claiming tiles when used in someone's core, unfortunately.
Thank you very much, Seven. I was surprised at how far the bomb reached. Interestingly, though, this is not actually mack's core - these are all cities he took from m_h approximately 50 turns ago. Team, we might be able to calculate roughly how much enemy culture is on a couple key tiles to see if the plan would work. Furthermore, I wasn't actually initially intending to suggest a plan that would seize five cities in one turn. Before running the sim I had assumed the bomb would be much less far-reaching, and that the plan would require two-to-three turns to execute (and not necessarily involve all those cities). I'm not going to do any more work on this tonight (it's 23:00 here), but I think it's worth exploring. And whatever the case, I think it's worth trying to take Eridu and Ur.
Thanks again, Seven. As always, there had to be something wrong with whatever it was I was planning.
It not being his actual core is good, but yeah, if you're dealing with 40% culture cities there are still going to be some problems, albeit less severe than I imagined.
Just first-ring borders at Ur would let us hit Lagash the same turn (and plainfood with a three-mover), and Kish and plainfood the turn after with two-movers. That's what we need to find a way to test for tomorrow, guys.
Wait, you guys have an Artist? Too many things for me to keep track here ... but if that plan works or can give you a reasonable shot at his (arguably?) best city then this would be a terrific use of it.
If you're really interested in computing culture you might want to consider zooming into his cities to see what buildings are present and try to compute a rough estimate of culture. IIRC captured culture buildings don't produce culture for the conquering civ (?) so that'll be a bit difficult to consider.
Nah, captured culture buildings are just destroyed, with the exception of wonders, which act exactly as you describe. So any non-wonder culture buildings in the cities Mackoti has do give culture to him (with the possible exception of academies, I don't remember what captured academies do with their culture).
Turn 166 fin
Wahay! (Sent the requests to dtay and Ichabod too...) Just a bit of unit shuffling left to do. We can whip the longbows in BoP and Hastings next turn, and we can add a GG medic, a welly and a mace to our stack. If Mack doesn't counter attack at the start of next turn we'll have 12 healthy knights by the start of the turn after. His cats may do something about that, but I'm cautiously optimistic right now. I also couldn't resist one more battle now that Konig is reinforced. Good work Flugauto! Make that two more battles! And I left the water like this. Possibly a bit dumb, but against Caravels we don't stand a chance. Hopefully it keeps some of Macks hitters in this area. And hopefully he doesn't have two Jans on that galley. Demos and Power
