Yeah, lynching based on your ability has worked great so far. May I remind you that both "killers" were town actually? Not that I blame you for their deaths, don't get me wrong, we are all responsible for that, but stating that you rather trust your ability than to mislynch someone, despite it having given 2 false positives already is kinda funny.
Quote:According to Bricks rules on first page all scum have the ability to kill as a faction ability. If I am a true seer and you guys see that. Then I am confiriming that both Novice and Serdoa arent scum unless I was blocked and heres the thing.
1. novice and I are in no way cleared before we don't know if you are scum or not. On that note because I read it from someone else: Lynching novice if Ryan comes up scum is not really smart. You shouldn't give him a town read anymore obviously, but Ryan being scum does just make all his results pointless. Neither good nor bad, because we can't figure out when he lied and when not. Lynching based on believing that he lied in a case is not making sense. Of course if you want to lynch because the town indication is gone and without it you see more points pointing towards scum for someone, go ahead. But don't do it just because Ryan could have lied. Because equally likely is that he stated the truth.
Ryan Wrote:In my mind , The current plan of the scum is to lynch me before I am able to the rest of them assuming that "bob and catwalk arent already scum who claimed vigi to hide from me". Then they will say that I was prob role blocked and kill novice and then Serdoa.
See above.
Quote:Even thou if I was blocked I suspect Serdoa the most. Ive never seen him try this hard to get a seer lynched for a couple of days now.
Please Ryan, stop these "I'm the seer, I'm so bloody important" statements. A seer is absolutely not needed for village to win if the game is decently balanced. With all the (proven) vigs in this game your role was never meant as a real seer who's results are to be followed. Rather your role can hit scum as well as villagers, balancing itself out.
Also, I ask to lynch you because your whole play was and is scummy. The above sentence actually illustrates that very finely imo. It is full of exaggerations ("try this hard", "for a couple of days") that actually bear no meaning. We are on D5 and know your role since D2. How can I even try for a couple of days to get you lynched when I was on Gazglum D2 and D3? At best I try it since D4 - though imo even that would be bending the truth. Pointing out that you are scummy and trying to lynch you are two different things altogether after all.
Ryan Wrote:My other target would have to be Ichabod since he is doing the exact same thing and they haven't really agreed from the start.
So the 2nd most scummy this game for you is Ichabod, because
- he is also trying to get you lynched
- he and I didn't agree with each other from the start of the game
Care to point out when and where I disagreed with him? The big fights we had? The arguments that were thrown back and forth? Because really the first interaction with Ichabod that I can remember is when I asked him if everything is alright...
Quote:Bob stopped talking completely the moment I revealed his ability and went lurker mode as opposed to his first posting style which can be assumed that hes trying to make people forget about him.
That's also demonstrably wrong. Not that I'm opposed to his lynch, though that's more that I can't really point to something that makes me lean strongly villager than opposed to me being certain he is scum. But he definitely did even after you told us about his ability make his posts, similar to those that started the game. It's actually more that I remember more of that than him actually trying to get someone lynched that makes me lean towards scum than town for him. But going silent? No, not more than he was the first day.
Quote: I was healed night two aka I was protected so keep that as a reminder that Merovech could have protected me and I think its really silly to think that the scum would make the role seer kill the targets he is targetting but oh well.
1. What has the point that you were protected N2 to do with anything? How does that make a difference on you being scum or not?
2. Why would it be silly from the scum to have the role seer also kill the targets? Especially if we have several scum-factions and they all started with 2-3 members, so you might very well be alone at that point. Apart from being an SK that has to do his kills by himself.
Ryan Wrote:If I get lynched im begging you guys to focus on the people diverting the conversation from bob, cat and trying to get me lynched. Maybe they honestly believe im scum but you guys dont have the option of keeping killer roles alive now..
Why don't we have the option to keep killer roles alive? We can block or track them and take it from there. I don't really see why we don't have the option. Again, not that I am actually opposed to their lynches, but that's because I can see arguments for these lynches that are valid. Stating something without explaining how one comes to that conclusion is not a valid argument though.
Ryan Wrote:I was opinion that Rowain was a good guy since I assumed he healed me night 2 but I take that back.
Why? What did he do to change your mind?
Quote:If I survive tonight il be checking Ichabod next or Zak. Thats assuming Scum give me another night of targeting :P You guys need to realize that they cant kill me during night due to protection and roles and IF YOU KILL ME, your giving them a free seer on a platter.. Serdoa is prob gonna respond to this and tear it apart just to make sure im getting lynched :P
No, I'm tearing it apart because it misses important things (like reason...). And that sentence is btw just another one of those that make me lean scum on you. You know already how weak that post is and try to cover it by crying foul before I even had looked at it. But that doesn't make it less weak.

I think Catwalk, Bob, Qgq and maybe Serdoa (it'd have to be a pretty crazy strategy for it to work, though - and Ryan kind of cleared him, right? Maybe Serdoa could be a tracker/watcher? I don't think it makes sense) are the only ones.
It makes no sense Ichabod Well, it kinda does. I mixed the two words up when I first claimed, so if someone is inclined to believe that I have both roles he could point to that. And as this is a game we can ignore the logical impossibility to watch and track at the same time. And if I could do both then MJW could have been watched by me on N1 while I tracked at the same time Rowain.
Thing is, why would I not have claimed both? There is no reason not too, especially as I claimed D2 already. I could have just stated when novice asked me which role I have that I have both. Watching MJW on N1 can be explained as a village-action easily and there was at that point no further result that would have needed explaining.
I mentioned the watcher/tracker combo possibility because I was a watcher/tracker in the Game of Thrones WW (hosted by BRick, right?). So it has a precedent of existing.
Either way, I agree that you having claimed your role on day 2 gets close to clearing you (of the "watcher accusation"). Like I've said, I'm giving this much importance for the watcher thing because we know that a watcher exist and no one claimed it. So, somebody is lying. There would be no reason to lynch someone that claimed watcher before claiming any other role (so, you could have done it on day 2 with no problem).
Regarding Ryan/Novice - If Ryan is scum, this doesn't say much about Novice. But if Novice is scum, Ryan is probably scum too. These are the interactions I can see regarding these possible lynches.
Serdoa I will enjoy reading the after post when you realize you killed a town seer :P I knew this post was incoming. If you guys think its worth the risk and i'm that scummy then lol go for it.
If you are a town role-seer you should try to help the village, but you don't. You just try to scare people into moving away from you by pushing them emotionally into an uncomfortable situation. You want to get them to think "if I don't move away and he is really a town role-seer I will look stupid". But that's exactly what I consider scum-play. You haven't even tried to think about what other reasons there could be for the night-actions to happen as they have. And I'm pretty certain the reason is that you know that they did happen that way, so you didn't even consider coming up with another explanation.
I am not using emotions.. I am trying to say my opinion. If you are going to use this emotional argument every friggin time I play with you I wont bother. You are not comfortable to play with. Second game in a row.
Ryan, I think that you misunderstand Serdoa. Anyway, Ryan
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.
1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.
2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.
3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.
4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Well, we are missing one watcher (the one who gave MJW his power on night 1), right? And we now that Catwalk and Bob can kill...
Seeing the roles we have, Qg's role seems extremely convoluted. What was it again? And did Qgq follow MJW used it on MJW on night one? I have a feeling that Qgq can be lying about his role, while being the missing watcher. But here's the thing: why would he lie about being the watcher? I mean, we only suspect the watcher role to be a scum-role because no one claimed it, while we know it exists (i.e. someone is lying; lying = scum). I wonder why someone would lie about this...
Well, there's one answer that I find good for this question. The only people who would have to lie about being the watcher is someone that already fake claimed (and can't really claim to be watcher now). At that point in the game, we had two claims that fit this description -> bob and catwalk. Bob could have faked his vig role due to Ryan's scan, so he can't really explain how he's a vig and a watcher. Catwalk preemptively claimed that he's able to kill, maybe due to being afraid of a scan - after that, he also couldn't claim watcher.
This leads me to believe that one of catwalk and bob is scum. bobchillingworth fits this theory better, while also being playing in a more suspicious manner.
Questions:
1. Any holes in this theory?
This is pretty solid analysis, I think, even if it potentially implicates me in a bad way. I can think of a couple other reasons why someone might lie about being a Watcher. There is a possibility that someone has more than one power; since we now know for certain that there is a third faction with the Internal Security, one of them might have decided that claiming multiple powers was too suspicious, and went with a power less likely to get them night-killed. Or since it's a very strong village role, there could be a troubleshooter using a false cover so they can operate in peace. Or MJW might have been referencing Qg's power, which is
already basically an overly-complicated Watcher power, if I'm understanding it correctly. I don't remember who Qg claimed to have used his power on N1, but he could have been lying for whatever reason.
But I think there's definitely a good chance your theory holds water. I am already voting for catwalk, and again note that we only saw one death last night, the night he was locked down and unable to operate. And yes Mattimeo, that means I think he is lying about how his power works. I have nothing to hide, and invite Xenu to rolescan me N5.
I don't understand the accusations that I'm playing strangely or whatever though. I mean yeah, on days where I've got attacks flying fast & furious at me I have to spend most of my time defending myself. And I'm not going to advocate for village metagame strategies like I did on the first day once the game has progressed to the point where they no longer make sense. But at least I've been voting- you can't even say the same for Catwalk, who ended yesterday with an "unvote". He has been sailing completely under the radar every single day because I've had this weird dedicated hate-cult dogging me like every day, making it seem like I'm the only one with claimed killing powers, while Catwalk makes a few insane posts and then disappears, and everyone just ignores him.
@Ryan - As you've probably noticed Rowain has been my number one suspect, but I'd like to echo others in asking for you to frame your defense a bit differently. I'm not demanding you post more since...well, look at my game. But repeatedly appealing to emotion doesn't make me want to view you in a positive light. Ryan unless you become willing to say more than "fine, lynch the seer, see if I care."
@zak - My ability name is Mental Blast. My flavor (btw, thanks brick ) is that I love partying and having a blast, and I even party inside minds.
