forgot it rounds down. That makes more sense - one of the fishing civs is researching something like agri or wheel, I'm sure.

Unsurprisingly, turn #2 gives no useful information (other than finding another 1 tile lake with seafood, which is now 3 - 2 of which have fish).
Some thoughts - tech pace on this game is going to be insane, with 5 fin civs and, presumably, everyone having gems in their BFC. I may not have to worry abotu any early UU's, just because I can tech to xbows or LB's before my opponents can build enough units to hurt me.

More exploring - borders expanded after I hit end turn, so here's the known universe:
The deer looks like a spot for a 2nd site - I should be able to road into that, having 2 workers, and start the camp the turn we get it. We could go wide, since I think we expand the turn we'll land the settler there.

more exploring. Everyone finished a tech. Eastway seems to be the only one building a WB, as he's the only one to grow. He's slowbuilding it - all food, no hammers.
Everyone else is making a worker.
I'm down to 3rd in GPT, so I'm assuming that everyone is working BW now.

Where are you thinking of settling, if you settle for the deer?
By the way, what do you consider the implications of a high tech pace in a game?

sites I see as possible for the deer right now are:
My initial thoughts are the black circle - that gets easy access to the clam and 4 hills immediately available. the other two sites are as shown, but really, it's preliminary. It might even be that a site by the fish is better (lake fish is an awesome tile for a fin civ - 6-0-3 - it just takes a few more turns to get going.
A fast tech pace means that very early UU's are less useful, particularly in a quick game like this on a map that isn't particularly cramped. cho-ko-nu will easily handle the early UU's if I can get to them. though, I have to say, i want to see some numidian/praet battles

This map script has done something very, very strange.
note the tiles outlined in red.
Those are 2-1-3 tile.
Apparently, those tiles are 1 tile lake forest tiles.
Odd, to say the least.

I'm planning on bringing the scout back to help figure out where I'm placing my city, btw - just scouting with warriors won't cover everything, I don't think.
I'd love to meet my opponents, but knowing where city #2 is going is more important.

Those are potential 3/1/3 tiles, nice!
Also, welcome back!

yeah. Makes for a nice Moai site, depending. Maybe 2S of that fish - getting fish, banana on plain, ivory and one of those forest lakes.
You know - Collosus is looking pretty good on this map - there's a lot of water tiles that you want to work.
I had a slight thought of oracle->MC->forge->pyramids, but maybe that should be more of a plan.
hell, that's maybe a nice enough spot to be city #2, even though it takes a long time to get going unless I can time a religion in it.
