Gazglum apparently didn't like my wardec
2 Vultures are incoming, and will come before I can connect the copper. I will be able to whip/chop some Archers in whatever city he decides to attack (Milton Keynes would be more reasonable, as it doesn't have cultural defences). Copper should be connected on the turn I found the next city, which will be in 2 turns. So I think some pillaging is the worst that can happen. Probably. Hopefully

OK, after looking at the screenshot, I realised I made a very bad mistake. I needed to switch the build in Milton Keynes to Archer this turn. If Gazglum goes towards Milton Keynes, I will not be able to get 3 defenders in the city by the time he gets there. I cannot dry-whip an Archer next turn, and the chop comes in only the turn after. Stupid stupid stupid

So here we are. Gazglum made the logical move
If both Vultures go towards Milton Keynes, the best chance I have to hold the city is by having 3 units inside. To do that, I needed to finish a unit this turn. Because of the mistake last turn, it couldn't be an Archer. So.... the only option was to dry-whip a Warrior. Which I did. Obviously, Warrior is not good against Vultures, but he will be a body in case combat doesn't go my way
I completed the roading to get the copper connected next turn: Settler moves to the spot and founds the city, then 3 Workers build a mine in a single turn, then chop at Milton Keynes finishes and completes an Axe. The turn after that, the Archer from Cambridge moves into the city, and I'll see what else I can do if necessary. Maybe Gaglum even decides not to attack... it won't be a free city, that's for sure
If one of the Vultures starts moving towards Cambridge, the Archer will go back, and I will chop an Axe there as well
The barb Warrior near London is also annoying - the Archer I have to move into the city would've been much more useful on the front lines
I like to create difficulties for myself, don't I?
On the plus side, traded maps with Dhalpir, have a full picture of the continent now

Like the tactical thinking there. Unforced meta error, but solid tactics and great micro to save things. I like seeing this Yuri.

Things went according to plan. By the time Gazglum could attack, I had an Axe and 2 Warriors in the city. He attacked and won both battles, but both his units were heavily damaged. My Warrior especially ended up being a hero - leaving a Vulture at 1.3 health, he didn't die in vain
The Warrior had 85% to attack the Vulture. I attacked, and won flawlessly. Also decided to move 2 Workers into the city, then next turn I will be able to build a road and kill the remaining Vulture as well. Hopefully this is the end of this war
The Archer in London also dispatched the barb Warrior without too many problems. Settler for the horse city will be done in 3 turns
Researching Priesthood on the way to CoL - do want to start jumping between Slavery and Caste. If I somehow steal an Oracle, I won't say no - but it's not a high priority

Got annoyed with not getting a Buddhism spread in Milton Keynes. Decided to try to build an Oracle there. 3 chops + overflow from Granary accounted for 78 hammers, 3 turns of working the ivory tile got me to 90, then 1-pop-whipped for remaining 10. Seems like an efficient way to pop borders
25 turns since Buddhism was founded. No free spreads. Got a Hinduism spread in London on the next turn after trade connection with Gazglum was established. RNG is frustrating sometimes

I am pretty sure Hinduism is somehow broken; its natural spread chance seems higher than all others'.
