RB Pitboss #1 SPOILER - Mali

Strong Badia was founded on turn 97. It is to the southeast of Sullla. This is another city (although I think the last one) where I gifted it to m_h/kodii to have them build a cheap mint in it.

Strong Badia has been pumping out military units and being whipped every 10 turns. It doesn't have much of a food surplus so it has stayed small. I might build farms on the grasslands so it can grow faster and work more of the grassland hills, but I'm not sure the overall production would be superior to what I have now with double-whipping it every 10 turns.

This is Esper, founded on turn 107. It is to the south of Sullla.

It will grow to size 8 on turn 154, and then I'll hire 2 scientists to create a great scientist for ChironBetaPrime.

This is the city of Bant, founded on turn 114. It is northeast of Root Canal.

The turn after Bant was founded, the borders of shadyforce's capital expanded onto the clams near Bant. I chopped out a Theatre which was finished on turn 125, and then hired an artist until I got cultural control of the clams tile on turn 135.

I'll probably build cottages on Bant's grasslands and make it a commerce city.

This is the city of Naya. It was founded on turn 118.

Naya is on the southwestern tip of my landmass, with ZPV/Elkad's capital just across the channel to the northwest. At the start of the game, I sent my first unit west of my capital to explore, and ZPV was the first civ I met, by seeing his border across the channel.

I felt that this was a very desirable city site with its irrigate-able corn, clams, and marble. I was worried that ZPV would take the spot, but I didn't feel I could settle it earlier because it was fairly far from my capital, and it would take a long time for a Settler to get there due to all the forests on the way.

It will be interesting to see why ZPV didn't settle this site when the game ends. Perhaps he just never sent a boat in that direction and so wasn't aware of it, or perhaps he wanted to avoid antagonizing me by settling on "my" landmass. Or perhaps he was just slow to expand in general.

I had been planning to make Naya my Globe Theatre draft city, but I think that Wolf 359 will serve that purpose much better. Naya will probably be mostly a production/whip city, and the launching off point for my attack on Elkad.

This is the city of Oh Deer! It was founded on turn 124.

It is south of ChironBetaPrime and "steals" a deer resource from Kodii's side of the inlet. Or I should say it tries to steal, as it's been more than 25 turns and I still haven't been able to control that tile. It should finally flip to me in the next 5 to 10 turns.

This is the city of Zendikar, founded on turn 134. It is 4 tiles south of Strong Badia.

This is actually the second city named Zendikar that I founded. The first one was founded on turn 122, and was located northwest of Wolf 359, on the strip of land between shadyforce and Imhotep. I gifted that city to shadyforce as soon as I founded it since it made more sense as part of his territory, and he was having to pump out units to fight regoarrarr instead of building cities. He renamed that city, however, so I used the name again.

The new city of Zendikar daesn't have much food, so I may want to build a farm or two on the grasslands it has.

This is the city of Jund, founded on turn 137. It is east of Naya.

Like Zendikar, it has only a single Deer as a food source, but it will still definitely be a worthwhile city.

This is the city of LeaveItToBeaver, founded on turn 145.

It is south of Oh Deer!, and picks up a fish tile, a bunch of fur tiles, and a lot of worthless tundra. A work boat built in Esper is on its way to improve the fish tile.

This is the city of Timbuktu. It was founded on turn 149.

It is southwest of Naya, and since it's on an island it gets extra trade route income. Naya was going to build a work boat for Timbuktu's fish, but it got reassigned to building a Trebuchet which will be upgraded to a Cannon for the attack on Carthage. The Cannon should be whipped on turn 155, so after that Naya will probably go back to building a work boat for Timbuktu.

Great overview of your cities! thumbsup

You leave a lot of forests - any aversion to chopping? Or for the health? I noticed that in Sulla you are working an Ovory for 2/1/1 where you could have another grassland river cottage running for 2/0/x or even farming it for 3/0/1 would be better...
