RB Pitboss #2 [SPOILERS] - Speaker and Sullla

I went ahead and sent the proposed messages. Needed to get them out now before they became outdated, and I don't think Speaker had any objections. Also, a new turn is up which I'll get to in a little bit.

OK, the big news for this turn is that sunrise's team has landed Buddhism. F4 just says it was "founded in a distant land" but CivStats makes it clear that they were the culprits. As for our territory on T47:

- Chamberlain heals to 1.4 health. He needs at least one more turn to heal, possibly two, before we can feel safe about moving.

- Workers A and C finished the funky-looking road connection between Gettysburg and Antietam. Beauregard is protecting worker A, and will guard the pair next turn when they move onto the silks. (We'll move Beauregard first, to make sure the tile is safe.)

In similar news, Pickett moves north this turn so that he can guard Worker B when he moves north onto the forest next turn to begin chopping. Anytime workers are outside your borders in the early game, and barbs are turned on, you'd better make sure to guard them! The Rabbits of Caerbannon lost their initial worker in the Apolyton Demogame because they moved him outside their borders to chop, and a wolf ate him from out of the fog. That unlucky break set them back dozens of turns, and contributed to their irrelevancy in that game. We have to make sure the same doesn't happen to us!

Of course, that means we'll have 3 warriors and 3 workers outside our cultural borders next turn. That will probably cost us some gold in upkeep, but we have no choice. Have to protect those workers.

- With the chop completing at Antietam, Worker D and settler #3 are due in two more turns. Woot! jive

- Jowy and Dantski both regrew population in their capitals this turn, both returning to size 4 after whips. (They are now both at the happy cap until their whip wears off, or until they connect their furs, which both may have already done.)

Jowy also settled his second city this turn. Because the settler was just whipped out on T45, the city must be within 3 tiles of their capital, a very non-aggressive spot indeed. (I'm about 80% sure that Jowy lacks Wheel tech to build roads, so the second city would therefore have to be the minimum 3 tile distance from Athens.)

- Thanks to help from the readers, our Excel file has been upgraded with the capacity to track foreign builds automatically. Plugging in the numbers from this turn, Dantski's city of Djenne remains at 5 shields, working the rice tile at 1 shield/turn. If nothing else changes, the city should grow in 3 more turns.

That's all for now...

Okay, I don't understand that chart. It also doesn't show every team.
Civilization IV sure runs like a dream on my new computer.

Which part don't you understand? I think the chart is awesome!

I'm back from vacation and all caught up, by the way, Sullla. Looks like you performed admirably in my absence, as I knew you would. smile

Ok, couldn't resist - I've had a play with the spreadsheet, putting in some formulae.

Put it down to a slow work day...

spaceman, that is absolutely beautiful! thumbsup I had to strip out the formulas in one or two places (mostly the Soldier count, because we're forced to use a lot of incomplete information), however the whole thing overall looks infinitely better. We'll definitely use this going forward.

We have the development plan finished up to T52. I should be able to post version 0.1 of the following plan (covering turns up to T65) later today. It's definitely getting more difficult to do this as we go forward, but then again the early turns are the most important, making this process worthwhile... at least for the moment.

Heh heh, no worries.

I did notice a couple of things didn't add up to your totals, but put the formulae in anyway so you knew what was possible. On the Power sheet, you could easily put in the total power count and have it calculate "missing" and "average", for example, but I guess as the game develops there will be more and more inaccuracies so some of the data will become less useful anyway.

How quickly are you going to push out settlers? In comparison to the other team of course.

Settler #2 for City #3 will be out in a couple turns. After that, it'll probably be a little while until we get 2 more settlers for cities #4 and 5.

Are you guys contemplating some sort of 'Plan Orange' if Jowy or Dantski decide to rush you?
