Ilios offered OB. I accepted because I needed the extra income. I got +7 commerce from the deal. I saw he made the same deal with Dhal, and Ilios is probing my territory with a Galley.
I've seen 3 English axemen in the area, and a scout from Gaz, so this is all probably the main landmass. If my scout survives, I can scope out more of the English territory. I'm gonna have to settle fast.
Decent chance for an Engineer... but what to get? Most of the good wonders are gone now, and I'm not sure what I can tech to. I guess if I get an Engineer I'll just hang on to it?
Dhal keeps reinforcing the border town, and now I see he has HA's, which I strongly suspected he had before. I'm not really sure what to do about it now. There are some other cities I'd like to place on the coast to the south east, but that city is strategically important to defend them. Plus it's a great location and I'm an idiot for not scouting and settling it earlier myself. I just lack the cities and population here.
For the time being, I'm going to divert more resources to settling and expanding. Ruto Town is going to be on a Settler/growth plan, I think, and I'm going to let Kakariko complete the Settler it started, even though it's slow going. I already put hammers into it... I realize now that I should have just put hammers into a Barracks. Maybe? That might have taken too long, I dunno.
Great Bay and Hyrule Castle are on troop duty, but I don't know if those two cities alone can produce what I need to assault Dhal, even for one city. I'll have currency in a couple more turns, though. My specialists are saving my hide. With Currency, that might help me limp onward to pick up some of the other techs, but it's 200 AD and I'm already pretty crippled, so I don't think I'll ever be a contender here. The real question is when Ilios is going to try to gobble me up.

Feeling pretty exhausted now. I have screens from last turn and this I don't feel like uploading at the moment. I got a Great Engineer. What to do with him? Not a lot of easy wonders to grab. I could go for MoM, or maybe Great Library?
Dhal and Gaz are 4 cities ahead of me. Yuris is 2, and Ilios is 5. So. Trouble. Good news is that a couple of Settlers are popping out soon, Kakariko is going to start on a Market (I can see Dhal is way ahead of me in infra and, well, everything). Going to settle the western lands as aggressively as I can. Going to keep building up cats, but I think I'm going to have to shelve my attack plans unless Dhal leaves his town underdefended for some reason. I also think I'm going to try to grab Calendar. It's faster, and because I know I'll be running many specialists, I might pop a few Golden Ages over the course of the game. I think I can get the tech in 3-4 turns. Crossing fingers.
I also think CoL in the near future would be good. Maybe MC > CoL. More specialist slots and better workshops are things I could use.

OK, I've been too quiet lately, so I'm going to try to catch everyone up on what's been happening from my perspective. Pretty sure the lurkers are aware of certain big events happening, though.
Dhal's city has popped 3rd ring, and has walls, so it is probably not changing hands. I'm still going to build up a supply of Catapults, but I think I am going to need some heavier infantry to take that. It's still a goal of mine, probably one of the more realistic ones I can work towards, but I'm so far behind and weak in every important category that I realize that going all-out to take the city would not be worth the cost by any measure.
The other down side is that I don't think I can safely settle the spots I want on the little peninsula there. I will settle the locations across the water, though.
Finally got Currency a few turns ago. Here's the changes:

I have open borders with Ilios right now. I think he's the only one with Alphabet. I want to pick it up soon so I can get OB with Gaz and get a little extra income.
As of the last turn, I should be getting my newest city in a couple of turns, and I'll get another one after that soon. I'm not the only one about to settle on the island(?) though:
Also... War! But you all probably know already.
Also, Ilios got a Great Artist which means he probably has freakin' Music already. Yikes and ugh. But I just got Calendar, so I think I will be able to grab MoM with my Great Engineer. I'll just plop it in the capital.
I don't know why Gaz is going to war, but I don't think he's going to do well.
Yuris is bigger, probably stronger. Oh well.... I was hoping Ilios and Yuris would duke it out. Ilios being in the middle would make him very vulnerable if he wasn't so strong. But he is so strong, so everyone on the side is probably going to fight (like my plans to attack Dhal) so he'll probably just make use of that.
Oh, I'm getting 3rd ring icy marble hooked up north of Snowhead. Shouldn't matter for MoM. I'd take a crack at the Great Library, but I think I can be easily beaten to it by just about anyone. I'm grabbing cheap Archery so I can make some cheaper city defenders at last, then I'll probably grab either Alphabet or Metal Casting, and then I think I'll try to beeline Civil Service and Machinery and see if I can crack Dhal's city with some macemen and catapults.
All while continuing to expand onto the island-ish place. I think my northern cities can handle those duties while other cities churn out military units.

Settled Koholint on the new landmass, which is an island as it turns out. Will have another city, Mabe Village, in 2 turns on the southerner island spot. Opted to swap out production in Great Bay for a Missionary and then Work Boat to help the new towns get on their feet faster. Deer for Koholint was already improved when the city was settled thanks to it being in my culture already. Workers being shuttled over and some Axes, too.
Science down to 0%, but can get Alphabet in 2 turns. Will offer Gaz open borders for some more income.
I'm a distant last place in demographics. Safe to say that my fate in this game is sealed. It's just a matter of time before someone with better tech wipes me out, but I'm going to do my best to keep moving forward. I can't let the Triforce fall into the wrong hands.
Oh, and I got MoM with my Engineer. Whee. Ilios got the Great Library. Blehhh.

I know I haven't been keeping this updated as frequently as I should. Combination of having a bunch of things to do in real life, losing a bit of excitement due to my last place position, the perception that this game has little lurker attention, and most of my civ excitement has been directed towards PB18. However! That doesn't mean I should let this thread decay or neglect my part in chronicling this game. So... a bunch of stuff.
We'll be retreading some old ground, but I'm determined to use all the pictures I snapped. Turn 85:
Ilios got a great engineer, and I wondered what he'd use it for. He used it for the Great Library.
A spot for future expansion:
But I got a Wonder!
I hope I get to make use of this wonder. I may still make an academy with my first scientist. To be perfectly honest, I am not at all sure when it's good to burn Great People for Golden Ages. Hrm....
T86:
This is where I got a new city!
T88:
I have another new city! Churning out some workboats because I didn't really plan this out exactly perfectly.
Overview:
Demographics... which suck:
Annnnd turn 89:
Ilios got this Wonder because he could and no one else got it. It works well with his Imperialistic trait so anyone who dares attack him is going to earn him a ton of Great Generals.
I chopped out a missionary for Koholint. If my estimate is right, this should get to the city just in time for a chop into the granary to finish. Also, after it grows it's going to start a Settler. Will finish in 5 turns. Will go to the islands.
Here's something that I wish I could say was clever if I had planned it. I want Zora's Domain to finish this Archer, but I remembered that I have Calendar now, and can improve these Silks. But I don't want to chop into an almost finished Archer. It looks like I can put turns into the Plantation before the forest is chopped, then chop the forest, and those worker turns will carry over into finishing the plantation. At least, that's how it went in a quick sim I did.
I don't have religion in ZD, but oh well. Several cities probably will never get it.
Lurker question: I have open borders with Gaz now, as well as Yuris. Together they have more cities than I have trade routes, but some of my cities are still using internal trade routes (the overseas ones with my island towns). Why is this? The foreign routes I'm getting in other cities are +3 commerce instead of the +2 internal commerce. Is this a case where the other foreign cities aren't large enough to give the +3 bonus, so I just get internal routes?

Most likely! Trade routes can be weird, but in this case, as you are mostly on the same continent as they are, most of their trade routes are worth +2 base probably.

I see. Thanks for the info. Perhaps they have settled a few more island cities than I realized. I saw Yuris has one or two on small islands to the north, and I caught a glimpse of Gaz culture on the southern part of the big island.
In other news, I wonder when cities are going to start falling to this war.

Here's another 3-turn spread update because I forget to do things.
Several resources have been hooked up or discovered:
I don't know why Gaz started that war, but he's losing cities. Seems kind of mean to do when you're planning to give your civ to someone else to play....
Signs of French expansion:

You know it's a good sign when the first thing you've checked on for the last 50 turns is "has anyone declared war on me yet? No? Good."

Uneventful turn. Swapped a few cities to Workers because I'm starting to feel my shortage (I only have 7!). Scouting has shown that the Babylonians (Gaz/Hashoosh) and the French (Dhal) have been settling the island for a while now. I dropped off a settler to a northern part of the island, will found next turn. Haven't decided on a name for the city yet. Hopefully Yuris won't be bothered, I don't think I'm too close. I'll have to grab what island land I can, but then I'll really be out of space to settle.
Just got Metal Casting, saving up for Civil Service. I should get a Great Person next turn, I think. Not sure what I'll do with them. Golden Age to make use of MoM? I doubt I'll get another chance to use it before I am conquered.
