EitB 33 tech thread

So, uh, vassals are enabled? I assume we are going to ignore that option?

I agree. That's a horribly abusable mechanic in FfH.

How do you tell that vassalage is on again? Ignoring it anyway is fine by me.

Also, I won't be able to keep up the 2 turn a day pace anymore. I've been missing that a bit now obviously, but just to make it official, there's too much to get through now and particularly on weekday mornings, I won't have the time.

I only realized that vassals had been left on a couple turns after I researched Feudalism, when I opened a diplo window and saw that I was able to propose vassalization. Since I kind of doubt anyone else will ever research the tech, it shouldn't be an issue, although island cities might cost more for everyone because of the stupid "colony" mechanic. I can't remember if FFH / EitB carried that over from BTS.

I thought colonies only applied to islands that were only reachable via ocean?

That could well be the case! It's one of the dumb mechanics introduced in BTS which I've never used, so I don't know much about how it works.

No, any islands are colonies, but the maintenance only starts being an issue when you have many cities on them (so mostly only ones reachable over ocean).

Hey TBS, are you saving your turns midway through, quitting the game, and then relaunching Civ to finish them off later before sending? Because the game just started bugging out and showing me your builds, plus whenever I complete something the game tells me I finished one of your units instead.

Yeah what exactly are the conditions for this bug? Generally if I need to reload because of a misclick I'll go back to the main menu and reload the game from there as that was the suggestion someone made in a thread some time ago. Haven't had any issues about that happen since, or at least wasn't told about it.

Actually how are you getting his builds? I thought that bug only happened to the next person in line, and that's me.

I'm not sure, but for this turn and the one before when I completed a unit it replaced the correct name with one which only TBS could build. Also, normally at the start of my turn the right side of my screen has a list of buildings / units which I completed- but I'm getting a bunch of TBS troops showing up instead. This turn I had more than were builds completing, so I think it's showing me everything he built during his turn. I took a screencap, I'll post it in my thread tomorrow.

I'm not entirely certain what causes the bug, but I'd like to get it resolved soon, since I'm getting a lot of data I shouldn't have.
