Capital shot

Popped the hut. Got experience. Blah.

Also successfully defended (while on jungle/hill) against a Lion and a wounded panther. I guess I can double woody promote to heal and move quickly through these forests.

Golddddd:

Very much in the running for city #3. Question is should I settle it with Gold/Copper/Banana/Pig first ring, or 1n which makes the gold and banana 2nd ring but adds a 2nd ring deer and overlaps more with the capital? Leaning towards the first option, but I need more information, particularly:

I think this is going to depend on how close Krill/Novice are. They came from this direction, so should find their capital soon.

Met Whosit (accidentally)

Oh well. It's pretty obvious from my scout positioning I must have come from the north. At least he doesn't really have a sense of distance.

From here I think I'll loop around back up north to get rid of the fog on the eastern coast. That will also put me roughly in place to fogbust for settler #2. Then I can send the scout on a death-mission as far south as he can make it.

Current micro has city 3 settled t29, a 3rd worker produced eot30, and then I'm still fiddling with the next section but 3rd city founded t39 is a rough estimate. Figuring out how many warriors I need in the interim and how much chopping versus roading/mining and how much whipping I should do.

From there the plan is much vaguer. Probably try to get a settler out of city 2 by the mid 40's, and then have a steady cycle of settling a new city every 6-8 turns or so. Expand unto crashed economy, revivify with currency.

Value wise putting city 4 up north would make sense, but I might want to take up space where I have competition down south. we'll see. I have a 5 turn head start on non-expansive non-plains hills rivals, and want to leverage that into more than adequate space.

Oooh more pigs.

I don't THINK this affects choice of 2nd city site, but I'll move the warrior one more over to be sure.

Though I can't settle the stuff I found fast enough... I really like my land. There are like 8 city sites I'm itching to get and I haven't even really thought that hard stuff beyond city 4.

Current city plans:

1 - capital
2 - SW-SW
3 - SE-SE
4 - ? Perhaps NNE, or extend border with Krovice or Whosit

Well, no more resources (cept maybe seafood), but nice grassland for cottaging.

I'm basically done scouting land on our continent I could plausibly settle, so scout is now going to head off into the deep unknown

Scout moved into a compromising position:

I actually should have about 50-50 odds depending on what exact health .9/1 is (I could check in the event log but... lazy). He's at 2.2, but forest+woodyII+river gives me about 2.25, but then lowered hp/strength for me cause my health isn't quite max.

Whosit doesn't actually know we're neighbors yet unless his scout poked in and out of my borders los (or he did the glimples through fog and turn around thing), but I don't think that happened given last I saw his scout it went south of Krovice. So not knowing we're neighbors might make him more likely to take a potshot.

However, even ish odds hopefully push him to not. Losing his warrior here probably screws with micro and I hope he won't want to take that risk.

If he does hit the scout, well, there won't be immediate retaliation or anything and i'd hardly go on a warpath, but I will keep it in mind should I be picking targets later. (Though let's be honest, given my two neighbors by land are Whosit and Krovice, it's pretty clear which one I should go after...)

Settling 2nd city next turn, slightly slower than scooter (dangit I wanted to be first)

Cheater hater scouting around my capital. Don't know where he lives yet. Further to the south is my bet.

Realized that this probably hasn't been reloaded yet... oops

Well, I get to remake my retroactively-wrong scout move! yay.

What a beautiful 2nd city site!

Quite. I really like spot 3 as well. And (what I think will be) spot 5 up north. Spot 4 I think should be something claiming land in the southern-direction. Currently thinking of 3S2E of city 2, which if I recall is also 3S3W of city 3 (don't think there's a good screenshot of that right now, I'll put one up on next login)
