Yeah, this is definitely a stronger setup for Elves then Calabim. I also thought N was stronger, but it seems quite a few players disagree. Especially surprised by Brian, though maybe unlocking the FP is worth it.
Speaking of which, I hope the Malakim don't break this game with their desert bonuses...
Edit: and yeah, if I had time I would totally do a FFH survivor. It would be much more interesting then the BTS lot too, IMO. Pity Sulla hates mods.

Thrill as Capria's 200-unit Tiger stack refuses to take a size 3 city for eight turns, and then leaves behind a single hunter for a garrison! Be amazed as a single Ritualist locks a CPU-melting army comprised solely of Thanes in place for decades on end! Gasp in shock as city-razing Basium triggers a blight which forces every civilization into a game-long death spiral, from which there is no succor but the score victory! Scream in apoplectic agony as every AI adopts FoL by turn 80, giving Sandalphon a religious win! Not to mention that one "dud" that always seems to just get so confused that he sits on a single city all game...

Or every single one with their cities stuck on size 6 because they went to conquest and never looked back.

I love Darrells comment on the MoH tile - he has no idea (especially given the Tomb has already been seen, although Brian clearly didn't notice).
And damn, damn, damn! I totally forgot that snake pillars turn into agriculture resources. Now it looks stupid At least it should have no effect on the game.

Hah, I never even noticed there were pre-placed pillars. Was that a late addition?
Brian's first map sketch is almost perfectly accurate, so well done there

Yeah, they were put in relatively late, as decoration for Acherons lair. And I. Simply. Did. Not. Think. It. Through.
And indeed, very well done by Brian! I wonder if this will be the game were he claims victory, especially if he's the only one putting in that sort of effort.

Brian's second city is very badly placed. It has no pre-existing road connection and requires 6worker turns to get one - which have yet to be started - it doesn't share any food resources either. I would have placed it 2E.

Looks like Mardoc has the game well in hand. If HK collapses, and it sounds like he will / already is, then it's Mardoc with a huge land and power advantage versus two players who are some combination of uninvested and crippled.
Too bad none of the islands are likely to see much play, there was a lot of neat stuff out there. Lesson: if you give FFH players the option to attack each other early they'll do it, even when there's still plenty of really nice land left to claim peacefully.

Yeah, although we obviously can't tell without pictures, it looks like HK is going down - if he's locked into a struggle with (potentially) 3-move commando moroi with only warriors to defend, he doesn't stand much of a chance. Honestly, I think Mardoc should probably look at construction and even hunting to just do as much damage as he possibly can - vampires will take a while to setup, and its more important to see how much he can consume of HK before he gets proper defenses in place.
I'm curious where HK tech/economic advantage was going. Sure it sounds like he got drama, but from the sounds of it he didn't even have adepts up and running.
I have to say, this is easily the map I'm most happy with. Maybe if there was more reporting wed see more problems with it, but personally I'm okay with the distances they are apart - I still believe it is well setup, as there is an opportunity for early war, but it is by no means required. You need to watch power graphs, be careful with roads, and keep an honest force, but whilst it wasn't XXIX levels, it sure as hell wasn't '62 either, and as mentioned, there was plenty of room for expansion peacefully.

Construction? Hunting?!
KotE for sure, no question about it. Hasted, burning blood mobility Moroi = 4 moves of blitz attacks or commando penetration.
