Ain't that an interesting horse location. Almost certainly going to change the latest city to the signed location instead. I could settle 1E for 2 first ring forests, but I think I prefer the overlap. I don't really want to have to put down non-river cottages so early either. I need to review my plan for the next few turns. Elensefar is just waiting for the food box to fill up before whipping the WB btw.

Farmer's gambit successfully negotiated?

And stop risking Jessica like that! She's off to try find my eastern neighbours again to see how much priority I should put on expansion in that direction. I probably need a chariot to push west and look for Joey.

I don't think the Natives really "do" a farmer's gambit.

New plan:

1. Settle new city for furs, share wheat and get a Totem pole ASAP
2. Continue to deforest the capital for a Library
3. Worker and Granary in Elensefar to start whipping
4. Get some military out of Dan Tonk and grow.

There are some spare worker turns near the end of the plan, its likely that Dan Tonk slow builds a settler and Elenesfar grows to 4 to 2-whip one. Might have to see about workers though, I thought the plan was not to skate by on the minimum amount this time ... Library before Granary in the capital is funny. Whipping is weak in RBmod, granary is of minimal use while running those specialists and whipping a Lib/Academy city isn't great. So, I think Weldyn just won't be whipped, it will stay at max size working as much commerce as possible and I'll fit in a granary before some happiness comes in for a growth spurt. Dan Tonk could put 30h into a Gran instead of chariot and 1-whip it, but I rather that chariot. I guess it will probably slow build for a while too, at least until the furs come in.

Also, it has occurred to me that with Metal Casing's cost decreasing, and the size of the game we're playing, the likelihood of someone Oracling CoL is higher than usual. They even generate the prophet points for their shrine. If so, I'll just generate a scientist to bulb Philosophy, pacifism will pay off the cost of the GS reasonably quickly. I hope not though, I sort of have my eye on Paya later on if I can get my hands on some gold. Dan Tonk has a lot of forests in the second ring which I'll probably save for a while in case I want a wonder shot.

It is tempting not to pay the cost of the Library in Weldyn and the Totem Pole in the furs city and wait for Caste system for scientists and artists. But I'm afraid that it'll be T75 or so without the Lib/Academy combo which sounds too long.

Good updates. thumbsup But I have to say, Native brown is near enough to Mongol brown to cause a mild panic every time.

Xenu - another solid neighbour. Cha/Cre of Germany sounds like some nice traits for this setup I think. Incidentally, I've been thinking that this has to be one of the perfect setups for Imp.

That fjord cutting into the land is nice, I might be able to split off that little crescent of land from Xenu and Hashoosh.

Also, Hut! smile
