Sorry for the lack of updates over the weekend, I was a bit hectic doing lots of different things.

The turn started badly, as previously mentioned. My warrior died of skeleton attack:

Not having the stats available but with 60% strength and 50% defence bonus, a 1.8 warrior should have odds on a skeleton, if only slightly, bad luck there.

Demographics continue to look nice:

Regarding my thoughts the last day, I think I'm going to have to settle by the sheep/corn/ivory next. With the flood plains to the West, I need to stake my claim there soon, and the site is a strong production centre into the long term.

Is Calendar a near term priority?

Nah, I honestly don't think I'll bother.

You walked yourself right into that one, Darrell

I played a turn, all that happened was I popped borders to third ring, meaning The Inner Light is the world's best city (as if we didn't know that already). There's a baby spider to the east, probably a result of my Lightbringer being et.

The demographics shows somebody at 20 food and I'm wondering how, though it's probably Sian being able to get food farmed quicker, thanks to essentially starting life at pop 3. Other than that it's pretty much the same. I'll post the screenshot with the next turn.

It's kind of boring waiting for my settler to pop, but he's at t-3 turns.

Ok the turn as I played it last night took all of five seconds. It's not that hard to play when you're moving nothing.

My worker finished farming the second FP, therefore he is going to go to Grass tile east of the lake to the SW and farm that in preparation for my second city. And I underestimated the number of turns for my settler by two in my last post, at eot he's five turns out. Here's a shot of the city:

And the demographics for both turns:

Incense plantation would be sooo much better than that unimproved cow...

Yeah had the one food blinkers on there. Am sending the worker to improve them.

Turn wasn't much. Fecking warrior had to go and die, feck.

Here are the demographics:

Have gone down a bit in gpt but that'll rectify itself. I wonder who'll be first to two cities?

Ok, a two turn bonanza, seeing as nothing is happening.

First of all, I moved my worker to the incense last turn, and started plantationing this turn. That was all the actions I took.

My empire looks like:

And my demographics for the two turns:

Future plans:
1) Get the settler and plant him at Wheat/Sheep/Ivory.
2) Build>warrior(for scouting)>worker>settler pump at the capital.
3) Send the warrior south to meet the other two, hopefully.
4) Set my second city to alternate warrior>worker for the next few sets of builds.
5) Technology goes: Exploration>Crafting>Mining>Religion>BW (or I'll put BW first depending).
6) Settle more cities.
7) ?????
8) Profit!

Ok, I'm running late on this one, mainly due to me doing polling clerk for yesterdays local and European elections in Ireland.

Turn 28 was pretty boring, and turn 29 saw AH come in:

And as you can see I moved out a warrior, due in no little part to the fact that I've my settler popping out next turn (well at end of turn actually). I'll be able to manoeuvre my units that I should have warrior and settler finishing on the founding square at the same turn.

Demographics for both turns look like:

I was tearing my hear out over the 90,000 figure, wondering did somebody finish a second city before I realised that it's the pop figure for a civ with a size five city and nothing else. My gnp continues to trend slightly low, but I'll get my incense on line soon (two turns) and it'll bounce back up. With the wheat, two flood plains and cow I'll have plenty of food-hammers to rex away, and if need be, plenty of hammers from the hills and my second city to build a wall of flesh against all invaders early on.

Bonus content:

Edit: for some reason asking firefox for the url gave me the wrong European election themed video???

Yer wan Teresa Heaney that was doing most of the talking (the auld fella presenter is Vinnie Brawn, a respected Irish journalist and professional crank) was running yesterday for Member of European Parliament in the South constituency, where I vote.

Looks like horses popped on your planned city site? Does that change anything?

Will need lots more warriors. The barbs are coming.

Still not getting the saves from the tracker, so thanks for forwarding them (even though I haven't had a chance to look at the last two).

Whoops forgot to check for them. City is just as strong 1S I believe though, so no problems there.

True this. That is mainly why the second city will be a warrior pump for the forseeable future. Also Inner Light is able to four turn warriors from scratch, so will build a few over the next few turns.

No problem, a second pair of eyes is always good to have.
