Don't be too hard on Krill. He's a Stoke supporter and can't read, so he thought this was the Rugby thread.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I love how the comments thread degenerates to each fanbase trying to establish their blue collar credibility. Good exchange:

That really does sum you daft Arsenal fans up in a nutshell. Posh Tory voting toffs, completely out of touch with the real world who think they're better than everyone else.
You should trip up north and call a few people northern plebs. You won't last long. Enjoy London mate. I could say some really awful things right now, but I won't, I'll maintain my dignity, unlike yourself.

I bet you didn't take part in the London riots did you posh boy? Soft southerner.

Agreed.
To get it rolling ... here is my outrageous prediction for Group B ...
In some situations when playing as declarer in Contract Bridge, the cards have to be in just the right positions. If they aren't ... you are not going to win the hand. In cases like these, you plan your play assuming they are exactly where you need them to be.
Based on this approach, here is my Group B prediction for the World Cup. As mentioned previously, Australia have almost zero chance of progressing onto the knock out phase. However, there is a silver lining ... the games have been arranged in such an order to give Australia a chance.
Round 1 [Spain v Netherlands, Australia v Chile]- The first game is a replay of the 2010 World Cup Final. Neither team will want to lose, neither team desperately needs to win. I expect a pretty boring game with Spain winning 1:0 or 2:1.
- The second game is where all the action will be - Chile will have to win and win big to have a chance for one of the top two positions. Australia will play an outstanding game and frustrate the Chileans before scoring an against the grain goal in the 85th minute.
Points: Spain 3, Australia 3, Chile 0, Netherlands 0
Round 2 [Australia v Netherlands, Spain v Chile]- The Netherlands will need a win here. They don't want to leave it to the last game of the pool play. Again, Australia will play beyond themselves with the game finishing in a 1:1 draw.
- Chile will need to pull out all stops but, unfortunately for them, Spain will have their measure and will win 2:0 Further, any Spanish player that received a yellow card against the Netherlands will be under instructions to try and pick up a second yellow card late in the game so that they sit out the game against Australia instead of one of the later, more important games.
Points: Spain 6 (Q) , Australia 4, Netherlands 1, Chile 0
Round 3 [Australia v Spain, Netherlands v Chile]- Spain will be on cruise control ... no red cards, no second yellow cards. Further, they will not be at full strength as some players will be suspended. Final score 0:0
- The second game doesn't matter.
Points: Spain 7 (Q) , Australia 5 (Q)
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.
