I'm reading the drama right now, apparently conspiracy theorists are saying that his friends had code words for cards lol

Friends watch the stream and message you what cards your opponent has

Actually, now that I think about it I remember thinking the "Hello mother" immediately after Leeroy popped in Reynad's hand was really weird at the time.
I think it probably didn't matter at all to the outcomes but I still think for overall integrity of the event he should have been punished.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

I didn't see it but only read the reaction on reddit. Which is pretty much the only thing being discussed on reddit.com/hearthstone right now
If it was that blatant I feel bad for the other player. But it also just kills all future credibility for that event going forward.

Wait, so they either a) allowed the players to use some sort of messaging application, or b) ran the event in front of a live audience that could see the players' hands?
That doesn't sound wise.

The issue is that hearthstone has built in messaging with no way to turn it off. Tournament organizers could work around that by giving the players alternate accounts with all the cards, or by requiring that they unfriend all their battle.net friends. They didn't.

don't need amazing cards to get 12 wins, good curve with not too many bad cards is enough
1 - mirror image, abusive sergeant, mana wyrm
2 - amani berserker, faerie dragon, knife juggler, river croc, sorcerer's apprentice x2
3 - arcane intellect, mirror entity, bloodknight, earthen ring farseer, flesheating ghoul, injured blademaster, shattered sun cleric
4 - fireball, polymorph x2, yeti x2
5 - booty bay bodyguard, faceless manipulator, frostwolf warlord, nightblade, stranglethorn tiger, venture merc
6 - argent commander, frost elemental
7 - flamestrike
420 gold and 2 packs!
I think having a slightly lower or higher curve than the "standard" most people play according to draft guides feels like it works better, this deck took several wins in the 7+ brackets by taking board early and applying constant pressure, my previous 12 win run was with a druid deck with high curve and lots of removal to stall into large taunters and Ysera.

This deck somehow got to 12/2:
I think it was mostly thanks for counter spell shutting down enemy board clear. That an nothing was terrible, everything was either solid or mediocre. The lack of late game didn't end up killing me as the RNG seemed to be giving very few people large amounts of 6+ minions (ran into a few giants and only two ogres the whole run).
