From Wikipedia, the 1994 World Cup was the highest attended in World Cup history, with average attendance of nearly 69,000. The total attendance of nearly 3.6 million for the final tournament remains the highest in World Cup history, despite the expansion of the competition from 24 to 32 teams (and from 52 to 64 matches) in the 1998 World Cup.
I guarantee you I will go to some games .

I'm pretty sure FIFA doesn't need our help making money - it is the one thing they're exceptionally good at.
Anyway, why go for higher attendances when you can just sell out to a desert oilfield?
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Just saw this on FB ...
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

It always amazes me to look back at the actual reason why rugby and association footballs split up, which despite common conception wasn't over the handling of the ball, but the act of hacking, i.e. the Victorian version of going in with studs flying. The FA wanted it banned completely, i.e. any players that were habitual hackers to be banned from the game permanently, wheres the rugby section of the FA wanted it kept in, on the grounds that taking it out would make football too limp wristed.
Then you advance to today, and you see rugby making a concerted effort to ban such tackles, with severe penalties enforced on any offenders, yet football, the game that banned that kind of dangerous tackle, all too often only pays lip service to the ban.
People say football is a physical sport, but there is a difference between physicality and performing unlicenced surgery with your footwear, which is an accurate description of far too many tackles in the modern game.

Great game!
Thanks to both team for positive football.
Refreshing to see a honest, clean game, without filming and endless arguing with the Ref whenever he makes a call.
Kudo (s) to Belgium for continuing to play football after the 1-0 goal too - and playing in normal time instead of slow motion too.(*cough ITALY cough*).
The commentators in Norway asked at one point "Can't we take both teams to the quarter finals?"

Interesting to note that the 8 winners of the groups made it through to the final 8.

Honestly we were lucky not to get crushed... Howard was on fire, but Prince Harry was killing us. We showed a lot of spirit down 2-0. Will certainly root for Belgium against Argentina .
Pretty clear UEFA reasserted their dominance in the quarters.
