[SPOILER] Yell0w - Rivanna, Svartalfar

Uhhh I found a Prime Lion with nomad strong and sentry promotions, and I captured it. What a great catch, this is going to turn ugly really fast for Brian.

Everything going smoothly so far, now I've got to face the Vamps though, we'll see how that goes.

How does one remove "scrubs" again.

You can remove them by building an improvement on the tile, or casting Spring.

This screen shot is a on the turn I took the city, I killed one warrior with my Hunter the turn before that. At this point it was defended by three warriors and a Lightbringer
Thats it, I took the city and kept it. I offered 10 turns peace on turn 73. Now my units are healing or running towards Sian. My lvl 6 Scout is going to be promoted to a Hunter, it think it's well worth the promotion.
I don't plan to finish off Brian though it would be quite possible. Since the map has those "uber" regions between players I'm intent to take them. Brian was my first priority cause the desert region would have been just too strong in Malakim hands. Now I'm gonna try to do the same to Sian, if I get both those regions I should be fine come mid and endgame, when organized really starts to kick in. HK seems to run away with his Illians, which I haven't even met so far. This turn FotL came in finally.

Oh you asked for pics, well here is one from this turn
[Image: Civ4ScreenShot0411_zps6ba67e46.jpg]

The preamble was me using Veil to get one of the two Lion Pride in this region, the 2nd one was in his culture. Since you can't capture animals with hidden nationality units I had to declare war, captured it used Veil and offered cease fire, then I moved slowly towards his city. I think my intentions were pretty clear, I didn't even know why I used WS, I just could have left it at war, he saw my troops gathering via the Mirror anyways, and I had to declare nationality to take the city, well to put a unit in that city the turn I took it. And it's not like I'm getting war weariness or anything. In hindsight I just used it because I could, not because it made any sense, well it hid the war from other players for a little while so it might have been a good move after all - but I didn't think of it at the time. My hope is Sian thinks I'm entangled with Brian and doesn't do much for his defenses, but I'll see soon.

How did you get an orc warrior?

It isn't an orc warrior. It is a elven warrior after using WS. If I declare nationality it'll be elven again.

So, Yellow did an interesting with this it seems. I am taking over this save. Yellow does have a nice empire and some really nice big sized cities. He captured a Scorpion and is using its spell to turn his 5/4 Sinister Fawns into 6/5 Poison Sinister Fawns. That's a bargain for 40 hammers, too bad they can't pillage. I really don't like mechanics like that, luck in finding a scorpion and it gives that great a difference in power.

Anyway, Yellow is a good builder but like in other games, the army is wanting. Dang it, we need an army! We are super vulnerable. We're up against the Calabim who are ahead of us in score and have a lot more soldiers. I'm guessing though that because the Calabim are at war with the Illians and the fact that the Illians player is willing to concede, that means the Calabim are invading down that way.

Well, I have to do something to spur up interest in this game. I declared war on the Calabim and have 6 units ready to attack their size 10 city with 4 blood pets. I might not be able to raze the city, but that's alright; war is calculated risks.

Is it ideal to start a war now? No, but if I want to defeat the Calabim, I really need the other Civs to feel a little hope. I really do not like AI diplo because there's a few things I want to say like

"DIE VAMPIRE SCUM!"

and other things

I offered map trades and open borders to the other non calabim civs. I hope they take my offer up and I hope they get the hint that I'm trying to work with them. Disaster could come next turn. Decius is scary with his Raiders trait. We'll have to see. This game was almost shelved and if the other players want to shelve it, it's gonna happen.

Yell0w has been at war with Mardoc earlier, iirc.

Eh, it's not random chance. You've got lots of planning involved - and in this case, I placed that Scorpion specifically (and banned most of the Svart leaders).

It's more about having something more on offer for capturing animals, when there wasn't any scorpion benefit available.
