Last turn of the GA
With that means a civic swap, so out goes Caste System and Pacifism and in comes Hereditary Rule, Slavery and Organized Religion. Lewwyn suggested a little trick where we whip the Hindu cities after making that swap but before swapping to Taoism which sounded great, so we did that. Truthfully, I'm not entirely sure how any of this stuff resolves, but it certainly didn't hurt anything. But we are now officially Taoist. Which is kinda cool, because I'm not entirely sure I've ever run Taoism in a game here. Let's all embrace the Yin and the Yang...
... because I know the first thing everyone thinks of when they think of me is balance.
Not a lot exciting going on beyond that domestically, but here's a few overview shots on the last GA turn.
North:
Core and TBS border:
South:
In international news, TBS built Shwedagon Paya:
Commodore took another city off dtay, Zelda. It appears he also razed a smaller city from civstats but it doesn't show up on the event log:
This war is going a whole lot more swimmingly for Commodore than Thoth.
What's weird is how only Oxy and Us have Civil Service. I know the capitals aren't uber here, but Bureau is still the clear best legal civic and Macemen are pretty darned useful units. I'll do some sort of beaker analysis once we tick off Guilds, but I think we're still in like 4th in total beakers behind TBS, Oxy and Commodore. Thoth really made a mistake trying to get a large scale conquest done with Horse Archers at this late date, I think. I think he'll still end up getting his share as Commodore grinds dtay to dust on the other side - Thoth's advantage in build queues is immense - but with each passing turn the idea that TBS could really wreck him on the other border gets more and more real.
Oxy on the other hand is teching Paper which can only mean a Liberalism run. Please, friend, keep teching that way. Configure your whole empire for beakers, Liberalism wins games! (That are already won. Most of the time, its a giant waste of beakers at a key point in the game.)
Anyway, that's the situation...

I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
