Last turn of the GA [Image: biblethump.png]

With that means a civic swap, so out goes Caste System and Pacifism and in comes Hereditary Rule, Slavery and Organized Religion. Lewwyn suggested a little trick where we whip the Hindu cities after making that swap but before swapping to Taoism which sounded great, so we did that. Truthfully, I'm not entirely sure how any of this stuff resolves, but it certainly didn't hurt anything. But we are now officially Taoist. Which is kinda cool, because I'm not entirely sure I've ever run Taoism in a game here. Let's all embrace the Yin and the Yang...

... because I know the first thing everyone thinks of when they think of me is balance. [Image: kappa.png]

Not a lot exciting going on beyond that domestically, but here's a few overview shots on the last GA turn.

North:

Core and TBS border:

South:

In international news, TBS built Shwedagon Paya:

Commodore took another city off dtay, Zelda. It appears he also razed a smaller city from civstats but it doesn't show up on the event log:

This war is going a whole lot more swimmingly for Commodore than Thoth. alright

What's weird is how only Oxy and Us have Civil Service. I know the capitals aren't uber here, but Bureau is still the clear best legal civic and Macemen are pretty darned useful units. I'll do some sort of beaker analysis once we tick off Guilds, but I think we're still in like 4th in total beakers behind TBS, Oxy and Commodore. Thoth really made a mistake trying to get a large scale conquest done with Horse Archers at this late date, I think. I think he'll still end up getting his share as Commodore grinds dtay to dust on the other side - Thoth's advantage in build queues is immense - but with each passing turn the idea that TBS could really wreck him on the other border gets more and more real.

Oxy on the other hand is teching Paper which can only mean a Liberalism run. Please, friend, keep teching that way. Configure your whole empire for beakers, Liberalism wins games! (That are already won. Most of the time, its a giant waste of beakers at a key point in the game.)

Anyway, that's the situation...

What normally happens is that I make him talk about every minor detail until he can't talk any more, so he generally doesn't have the energy or inclination to write about everything we've just argued in detail about. So the details of what we're actually doing every turn are generally not reported. Not so in this game.

I have to say that this guarantee was totally incorrect, recent revival notwithstanding.

I've reported like 5 days in a row and haven't gotten a single lurker comment before this and I'm still reporting. [Image: biblethump.png] Can't a brother catch a break around here?

So what you're saying is that if you can find a way to stay permanently in a golden age you'll keep reporting? neenerneener

Your thread is at least making me consider adding choice Twitch emoticons to the RB smiley list.

I at least think about posting sometimes. smile

I appreciate the reports recently. I just don't see many pointed questions I can answer.

Can we make this happen? I'll post reports in triplicate if we can make this happen. nod

This would be an excellent idea. thumbsup Certainly Kappa, BibleThump, PJSalt, DansGame and PogChamp at least.

Yeah, I suppose there hasn't been a lot of "What to do?" questions in here of late. Mostly because the path is fairly straightforward. That's going to change in the near term, since we're very close to the Guilds goal. The short term is really just about getting Forges and Courthouses down in places that don't have them and defensive units in place on the TBS border. But that's very much a short-term thing - from there, options start to open up.

Not a ton to say about t138 since I've been chatting here more frequently. Biggest world news is this:

Amusingly, dtay ran 2 workers to our territory to deny them to Commodore. I'm going to feel bad about sniping those cities off him. Also, the Library build in Elysian Fields with the overflow from last turns Forge whip is a little annoying - I'd much prefer a courthouse, but we need to make sure we keep an iron grip on 2nd ring tiles.

Our tech capacity is a little better than originally figured. We could have 1t'd Guilds with ~4 wealth builds. There's not that quick a clock on it, however. So we're going to save this turn and bang it out next. When you get this many new military units available to you, you really need a bit of time to get them going anyway. Tech path after Guilds is almost certainly Engy > Gunpowder. Then we'll need to reassess. Probably some form of economic something, though.

This is apropos of nothing, but it sure would have been nice to have a few of these available to us. Look at Commodore's Moai city. yikes

Since I don't think I pointed it out earlier, here's Pindicator's former capital, if anyone was interested:

Since I spoke of it, here's the current state of the military. Most of the ancient trash is either in one of the two TBS border cities or on the dtay border:

Any questions?
