Turn 182.

In the immortal words of Steven Stills, "It's getting to the point where I'm no fun anymore."

Team Pirate decided to rub our noses in how outclassed we really are in this game. They took two cities on our mainland and one on the southern continent. It looked something like this:

The worst news in that whole list is that the Pirates and Amurites have ten turns of peace. I expect to be dead by then.

I fired off a couple Maelstroms, which gave me a pretty good idea of what's left on the ships (see the logs below).

I was hoping to hit the ships with some fireballs, but they had odds of less than 5% against the stack.

I was hoping to hit on a 20% odds great commander for a two man golden age...

... but got the useless engineer.

Here's the rather grim situation:

Turn 183.

It's really hard to get motivated for these turns. Mardoc has a really big hammer, and he's just going to keep bopping me on the head with it.

I'm sorry, do not listen to the body by issuing no map, no army since I was a shameful failure severity. When the next battle when, in fact, consider the production of military units.

To explain my mysterious post in the tech thread: at end of turn, I whipped three Privateers, but they didn't appear. I was confused: was it because the city was empty? Could I not whip HN units? I finally realized that it was because the Pirates had disconnected my Iron.

So I whipped Mud Golems instead. The lurkers (and, post-game, other players) are welcome to call me a cheater, but I don't think the game should have let me whip an unbuildable unit.

In actual game news, Mardoc is still mowing my guys down. He has a bunch more Arcane Barges floating in to attack the north continent. In the south, things are dire. He had a stack of units with Commando promotions that I didn't notice, and will take one of my inland cities this turn. My mage is no help thanks to an egregious misclick several turns ago (I was trying to cast Water I, and instead promoted him to Water II).

Little boys are good! I can not deny you a lot of comments here. To love ... We want to be a clown in the circus! Propose our defense. Our nation, you can become an independent province. This method is not only what you love! fun! And they will do these little sea monkeys!

Aww, we're so fucked. We've lost the southern continent entirely. Someone's been dropping the ball on military.

Overview of our lost city.

That's a big stack.

May as well spam 33h fireballs. At least that was the strategy DaveV was going for.

Killed a single unit. Ugh, totally not worth it, he was redlined and I had to cast a regen on him afterwards.

Stack was barely scratched.

And then I lost a golem on the southern continent. He was a refugee fleeing south into the barbarian-infested wastes.

No changes to traits. Odd.
