[Spoilers] Old Human Tourist: Empress of Azteca

Turn 121

We're rolling in iron smile - luckily for us Azza isn't - we should be able to cut his off along with his copper and elephant on the second turn of the war before he can actually complete any units... Fingers crossed. Actually Azza's copper may be the third turn of the war - it looks like Boo-urns has 40% culture already. Also with IW coming in I just realised we have one turn - this turn - to build a Jaguar before Machinery completes next turn and he'll upgrade to a Mace. frown

Scouting chariot exposes very flaky defenses and not a lot of pop in Mardoc's core - he only has two cities over size five (although there are a couple we haven't uncovered yet). I think the answer to von Aldercreutz's question is that we need to continue to blitz forever hammer. (Opinions may vary as circumstances change...)

Up north we meet Molach and I offered him OBs.

In the NE Dazed must have razed this city of Furungy's and you can see Dtay's Colossus and Plako's French borders in the bottom right. He's at war with BGN - presumably on the other side of both their empires. Hopefully it's nothing trivial. I'm also hoping Dazed doesn't take this opportunity to get free XP from the Galley - he only has OBs with us and plako though, so not too big a worry.

FT proposed getting city visibility on Azza in the turns running up to our invasion to track his stacks. To get visibility on his cities it will cost:
No Homers - 195
Boo-urns - 200
Prove Me Wrong - 193
NAA - 213
Hello Joe - 184
DP - 209
Dig Up - 240
Z - 249
M - 256

We're making 18 EPs per turn and have 154 invested already - three turns will get us to 208 EPs. No Homers and Boo-urns are the important cities to have sight of. So if we start on t125 or t126 then on t128 or t129 we'll be able to see those cities. smile Sounds good. The added bonus is that we'll disguise our power spike by hiding our graphs jive. I have a feeling that Mardoc had research visibility on us so I jigged the ep weight to 10 on him and 8 on Pindi, so that neither knows how many courthouses we have...

On the micro front check out the whipping spree coming up in four turns time. yikes

eek @ Mardoc's core. Knights ftw. But surely he'll do something if he sees us eat Azza.

I just hope he throws his stack at Azza when we attack, in a desperate quest for gains, leaving himself wide open to our knights. More likely though is that he'll turtle with elephants and rush to engineering. Or that bgn gets involved.

Lurkers:
Dtay just got guilds and is whipping like crazy, he also just delayed playing until after Whosit (his logical target) so that he can get the second half of the turn timer. Nothing wrong with that except that Whosit is already playing second after Cheater Hater and a three way turn split is obnoxious.

Does anyone want to tell him that for me or do you think that 48 hours should be fine for a three way split?

Turn 122

AT has got a great general out of his war with Yuris. This stack of Mardoc's is promising/crazy - there are three Catapults visible as well as a bunch of Archers in Orange. He and Azza only signed peace on turn 119 though, so it won't be doing any damage soon. If we can get our war declaration in promptly on t128 or 129 a nice dogpile is on the cards... Also note that Pindicator built the Hindu shrine frown.

Demos and power - I whipped 9 points worth of pop away this turn which means our GNP and MFG dropped from the top spot (although the known tech bonus on Machinery is smaller as well). Crop yield is still good though and we should stay first until the whippocalypse on turns 125 and 126 popcorn.

Just declare war to dtay that way the sequence would be CH-Whosit-Dtay-You
Let the game explode! popcorn

In a more serious note, is there any eta for settling for the Marble?

Ophelia can whip a settler at short notice, so I thought we'd settle when we had banking and/or engineering and thoughts turn to the artsy techs. We know we want the national epic in kirby and globe in Gertie but the heroic epic could go in hazelnut or in a city we capture from Azza. None of those are urgently needed just yet..

Dtay is pretty good about playing turns, I dont think the three way will extend the game much beyond the existing two way, but I can mention it in his thread.

Thanks Ceil, I didn't find that in pb13 where the order was dtay->me->2metraninja and he played less than half his turns in the first 12 hours of the timer. But perhaps with 48 hour turns it will be fine (if this turn is an aberration - see tech thread, where I will shortly be trolling, for details.)

Another rule for my passive-aggressive personal statute book: Anyone who freely chooses to go third in a turn split should not expect a pause or re-load.

Tell me if I'm sounding too much like Krill.

You nedd to drop more f-bombs to sound like Krill.
I totally with the rule though.
