TheHumanHydra Falls Behind [Spoilers]

Ok! Often it's known map information, that's why I asked.

TheHumanHydra - Victoria of China
Ichabod - Isabella of England
Commodore - Charlemagne of India, changed from Hannibal of France
Pindicator - Hannibal of France
dazedroyalty - Frederick of Egypt

I expect Hannibal of France to go second, then [decent leaders of] Egypt and Ottomans. Interested to see if India gets picked; Charlie offsets it pretty badly (remember this is base BtS). Obviously this analysis was done Fin leaders - Agriculture; I ain't any more sophisticated than that.

So, contrary to my predictions, Ramesses of Ottomans was not picked, replaced by the interesting Isabella of England. I'm guessing this means starts are mirrored and Ichabod is looking for a fast Fish off the Exp hill; he'll be fastest out the gate. Dazed - might make an early shrine play? I'm actually surprised he didn't pick Ragnar of Portugal if starts are mirrored. At least Org and Phi (and a shrine?) will help him keep up in GNP - will it be enough? It's too bad Commodore handicapped himself with Charlie; Pindicator at fourth pick should not have gotten what he did and is the clear favourite to win. I had been counting on Commodore to give him a good fight; let's hope he stays focused with his early micro and out-expands him. Interestingly as the only other Fin leader I am in the frightening position of being called on to keep up in tech with Pin or the game is in the bag. Realistically, given the disparity in our skill, that's not going to happen, though in a void I have the edge with Imp. Well, we'll make the best fight of it we can, and who knows what geopolitics may bring.

Indeed.

So did some simming. Eot15 settler is possible on that start, with size one capital, two tiles improved and a warrior and worker. Whether this is desirable will depend on surrounding terrain. The first decision-point for me is whether to research Fishing starting t4 and build a work boat, growing the cap, or Bronze Working and chop a faster settler - this assuming I SiP. I really need to see more terrain - looking forward to seeing the save, probably tomorrow.

Hey, I'm off to a good start - I'm actually simming a little!

Wahay! Your batteries must be fully re-charged!

I guess you'll find out about the mirroring of the starts on the t0 demo screen.

Need a dedlurker?

Good point with the demos; I'll look out for that.

I just realized I made a mistake yesterday; the Expansive bonus does not apply to work boats (why did I get it in my head it did?). That invalidates some or all of what I said about Ichabod and its implications re: starts.

I definitely would appreciate a dedlurker! I didn't want to ask you because I thought you might be too busy and I haven't been the most consistent of lurkers for you (frown), but I definitely appreciate it. I expect to see the save tonight; do you agree with 1S-1SE for the scout?

I've got time on all the days that PB18's turn doesn't roll frown.

Is it RtR and ToW that give EXP a work boat bonus? I can't keep track of that sort of stuff. Are you planning to build a sandbox?

For the scout how would SE-NE grab you? If you're going to move off the coast for an eventually stronger city (and abandon the fish to a second city) you want to keep the deer nearby and moving there shows you three tiles that could keep the deer in the BFC. Of course your suggestion gets you sight on four useful potential-BFC tiles, it would still allow you to settle t0 if you turn up something good and you're FIN so coast isn't that bad for you so that's probably the better move. Either way settle-in-place is probably going to be the best option. nod

I should be on chat a fair bit this evening if you find something interesting.

RtR's Expansive a +35% work boat production bonus, while ToW's Productive gives +50% work boat production bonus. Pretty good!

Hey, want a 2nd dedlurker? Just a very casual one, but at least you would know that if you feel like reporting there will be someone reading your thoughts and sometimes suggesting hammer

That'd be great! I don't mind a casual dedlurker at all. I'm a pretty casual dedlurker. scared

Already done. wink

I was expecting a save in my inbox tonight, but there isn't one, so it may not be till tomorrow. If it comes later I'll try and catch you on chat, OH, if you're still up - and I'll think about your suggestion re: scout move some more. In the meantime, my brother and I have plans for dinner!
