[SPOILERS] Wilderness

Space for 2 cities between us. Also met REM who approached from NE.

Death Dot grows to size 3 and the cows are improved.

Death Dot grew to size 4 and I changed the build to a settler. Warrior was 14/15 but I don't think we need it just yet.
Worker will build a road on ivory or pigs so that the settler can move to the plains hill in one turn.
We'll also know where the copper is before we move the settler, but it probably won't change anything.

Found REM's capital and found horses.

Sadly they are again in a bad spot. A city here would only have a clam and a farmed banana.
It's looking like I won't get horses until my 4th city. That makes Egypt sad. frown

War Chariots have a very long lifetime, don't worry!

Here is our copper (3rd ring) and our freshly settled second city.

I converted to Slavery last turn. We'll make use of it in a bit.

Ivory is still unimproved. Going to tech pottery before hunting. We'll need granaries soon to help us whip our double food cities. Our workers will also be doing more important tasks than improving an ivory tile. The first worker is improving cows and then the sheep for Fall In (Thx creative for the fast border pop!). Our upcoming worker will complete the road to Fall In in preparation for our third settler, then it will start chopping forests near Death Dot. After two forests are down, that worker will then move on to improve the ivory tile, just as hunting will be discovered. Our third city will be settled NE for pigs, silver and marble. The silver will be key in supporting our early expansion, and eventually the happiness boost will be nice as well. Copper will be improved around T44 IIRC, at which point we'll have roaded to the third city, two workers over there improving that stuff, one at the capital improving the ivory, and a fourth one at the copper admiring their handiwork. Because our cities will be building granaries instead of warriors while growing, we'll be rolling with a low defense of overall 4 warriors before we can no longer build them. We'll be shielded by the combination of our Civ (war chariots!), early access to copper, and my reputation as a player who will fight back hard. Rushing is very much a possibility on this map, though it might not be a good idea. While it'd be sweet to get a second super capital, that's all you'll get.. You won't secure any land for yourself when everyone is bordering everyone.

More inconveniently placed horses! I reckon these are too far for me to grab. Lands seem nice though, better find out how close someone is.

Found Bob. This should give an idea on distances:

First to three cities hammer Everything's going pretty great apart from losing a few hammers to decay. I hadn't noticed it in my simulation.

Bob fed his scout to me. My warrior got a promotion out of it. Cornflakes' warrior approaching from NE could be a pest, but I have 3 warriors around to handle it. Still, I can't risk 2 workers on a 50% roll, which means I have to abandon the forested hill. He can move there and it will then take me a while to get rid of him. If he's a smart man he'll play nice and stay out.

Question to lurkers (if there are any nono): My city in the picture above is at 8/10 culture, and it gets 2 culture per turn. Does the border pop happen when I end turn, or when I begin my next one?
If the borders pop right away, Cornflakes' warrior will be pushed away and I've got nothing to worry about. I wanted to be safe tho, so I covered the workers with two warriors.

An injured barbarian appears. I reckon he ate Cornflakes' scout who was around there last turn. I have 1 warrior in capital, and the promoted warrior is on his way to help out. I'll be OK but I might lose a worker turn (I'm getting the copper improved and connected soon).

I have pigs improved in my third city before anyone else has settled their third jive
