As yesterday, so today. Just call him The Traveler. Settling in place is still a temptation, but that's a lot of riverland to leave on the table...
...I've got to push borders not only south against Pin, but also north against Pin. Actually, there really is more room this way though. My priority is going to be settling on that marble; it needs a border pop, but the pop nets a sheep and cow, quite nice. Depending on how things looks I could always pop borders with Oracle there. Next city is going to be for copper, though. I need to weigh how I'm going to time this one, actually. I could start my second worker right now...13fhpt makes for an ugly 4t build, but 12h overflow works out nicely to net an amazingly rapid 3t settler following. Actually, I think I will do that, for all that it will delay my second warrior. You're not hardcore unless you live hardcore!

As you can see, I went for the plan that gets me to size four with a spare warrior, because I expect to See Serious Objections. Ah well, roll dem bones and be willing to tech Archery, right? Economically, this new city is nasty-costly, going for -3gpt. For a city sharing BFC tiles. Oh yeah, that's why we're on Noble. Silver makes this place tenable, but only just. Need cottages ASAP people! Speaking of difficulty, I do get two free wins here, right? Otherwise, my scout is going to find this next turn unbearable.

Oy, people leak all sorts of information, don't they?
Quote:me: Hey Pin, saw you've posted, any turn-sign?Well I wasn't fishing for information, but Pin just gave me some. "Too much to play before work" means that more than the typical five minutes are required, which means Pin noted my city (sharing BFC tiles with my capital, note) and decided it needed more time. And that it was worth posting about. It's Mackoti-level tea reading, but I suspect that means we're looking at: Edit: Yup, that's Noble posting. It's kind of useful to have someone hate you with utter foaming passion, gives a kind of consistency to what you know his contributions are. Going to be calculating Archery vs. finishing BW onto Wheel, then!

Spherical map? Sweet, I've been waiting for that since civ II!
Also, city 3 for horse and capital sheep right? (September 15th, 2014, 11:56)Ceiliazul Wrote: Spherical map? Sweet, I've been waiting for that since civ II!More like "tilt" but sure... City 3 is dependent on a couple factors, actually. I suppose the most secure current plan would actually be Wheel next, and settle 1W of horse to hook them fast down the coast to Suddrey. That's a bad city long term that messes up the local dotmap pretty badly, though. Still, surprise chariots would go nicely. Yet...I'm really thinking we have capital copper. Given close proximity of all of us and the relative paucity of capital resources (only two food for me and demos say likewise for others probably), capital copper makes sense.

Meaning by his implication I need to figure out an absolutely least-time to get chariots out...it's a little sad. Here's my noodling going the rarely-seen Worker-Settler-Settler open, with the even more rarely-seen scout-guarded second settler. I might be able to set up an overflow cascade from a warrior to a scout to get out that Suddric chariot on turn 30, if that river-lake configuration allows trade before the third-ring border pop in Suddrey at the end of that turn. I love the craziness of this plan, and it's the right direction to go if Pindicator, pushed by Hate and Despair, will go tilt. I might need to eschew the madness and tech Archery (saving turn then 4t burst) next. I have one turn of gold saving/warrior finishing to decide. Whee! *Formal mechanics question: Will I need to wait until Buddhism pops Suddrey's borders to third-ring before Orange Dot gets a trade route to it?

Actually, check that, with the capital's borders popping turn 25 to defend my travelling settler and worker I can eschew the scout escort and use captain bear-bait to scout the French copper situation.
