Just want to emphasize Xenu's tech thread point. You can put infinite hours into a map and still get complaints. When people have perspective, they'll realize that it didn't really matter anyway; it doesn't take too much to make player skill and neighbor/RNG/scouting luck dominate map inequalities. But in game, it's easy to say 'if I only had...'
I'm sure people will be more than grateful for your work, TBS, no matter where you stop.

Game on! I moved the scout a logical 1SE, revealing a hut. I'll pop it next turn for...hopefully something nice.
Down goes the capital, and we're on our way to making a good fast work boat for our capital fish. I'm not going to complain about a riverside capital with four food sources. Normally, I would be planning to move palace given eight coastal tiles, but I'm Dutch, brah...Moai/Dike hammer time! Heh, or maybe not, but it's early yet. Actually, though, a consideration for staying, with RBmod's Free Market trade and a B&S route set up the ability to put a Harbor and Custom House in your capital/Oxford city is pretty huge. Ottawa was making 67 base commerce from trade routes. So Storm Front should be a beast for a good long time.
Demos. Yeah, Plako, Gawdzak, and Gavagai are the only others yet to settle. WEIRD STUFF WATCH: AIREM ended turn without settling. Wandering?
It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. I'm surrounded by herpes jungle here, which is worrisome, but that's also a ton of prime town land eventually. Plus, I'm pretty much a lock on the world Dye market! Second city will probably want to share the corn somehow, but where the hut is out west is definitely a valid consideration too. I'll be making my settler *after* bronze working, so copper considerations will predominate.
Jungle-choked, humid, sweltering, tropical...that's the red Netherlands for you!

There's something blasphemous about the Dutch not being Orange. Maybe Carthage should have changed to red or something.
High food and dyes, of Water Civ. Reminds me of One Fish. Minus gems, though.
As capitals go, I'll take the one we have here. It'll get the job done in the early to mid game for sure. That nearby jungle is a pisser though. Earlyish IW it is.

Perhaps... a map?
So, Workboat first, then Worker? When do you think the first Settler is going to get started? I'd pop out a Warrior before the Settler at any rate, but with this start do you think you'll make just one Worker before Settler?
I'm just doing my best out here.

Yay huts! I hope we get Sailing and Bronze Working.
Edit: So when can we slip in a couple more scouts and a scouting workboat into the microplan? For Science!

That was a clear subjunctive case, Xenu . Clearly he's pointing out the obvious truth that Commodore will get the best bang for his gaming buck by spending it here . 62 needs only the bare minimum attention to keep the pace reasonable.

I'd pop out a Warrior before the Settler at any rate, but with this start do you think you'll make just one Worker before Settler? Maps are fine, if they show good things. WB->Worker->WB->Settler is what I was thinking for now, but that's subject to change. If we were worker first he'd be twiddling his thumbs for a couple turns before bronze working finished up. I'm happy whipping a bit with this much food and Pro...

Fortunately, this game Scooter literally cannot appear on a hut map .
