My advice would be don't go to the forest hill 1E of pigs this turn. There is a clearing 3S of rice, so you can either go 2E of pig this turn, and through the clearing next turn ... or you can land on pig this turn, then next turn go to the jungle 2E of pig. We do want to scout that coast for seafood though, so in my opinion it is worth the extra turn stopping at the pig. We'll have plenty of time to circle around and scout the cows area before the settler comes ~T30

That was actually my plan. Go onto the Pig next turn, then to the til 2E of it, then head through that clearing the turn after. I didn't want to leave any unfogged tiles in the water around that pig. Since as you said, there could be seafood and therefore a good city spot for later over there.

There's our fishy....so from what we can see, that northern jungle tile would be a good spot to settle a city at some point. It'd get the Pig, Fish, and share the Corn with the capital.

Nothing super exciting this turn, so I'll wait until next turn for another screenshot. Where I have marked will likely be the best place for a city at some point. That plains tile has Fur on it, so that's another resource for that city spot. It's also all coast right there, so next turn when I go SE onto the fur, I'll be continuing east. Might be another SE, but this does appear to be a relatively narrow strip of land we are on.

Since that looks like a whole bunch of forest and jungle to the SE, I'll likely move E next turn. Then need to decide whether to go NE-SE the turn after that, or head NE-NE to go defog that area NE of the cows. I'm almost tempted to do that, then circle back around through the fog to uncover the forest crap, to then go back to explore the area NW of Cherios. Or after defogging around the cows, we just continue eastward until we meet someone. Multiple options here.
Though the more I think about it, it's probably best to continue eastward to meet someone. An eventual Warrior an go down to explore the forests/jungles.

I think SE, NE, NE-NE would be best. If E, NE-E, NE you still end up on the forest hill after 3 turns.

Bah, no luck at all with these huts...just got experience for the scout...though I guess at least the experiene will allow me to get the woodsman promotion for moving through those forests and jungles faster.
