So, I decided to look for Dazed once I had the new save. And:
Well, that could be his Capital expanded borders. It's not first ring, from what I can tell (EDIT: it could be). Anyway, the city on the sugar gets more value to be settled once we have some spears. I think Dazed can't see us and it's better if that stays this way. If he explores this way with a WC, we can whip a warrior and turn it into a spear.
That's possible because we can 1t hunting. This is the part of the game where the sandbox isn't accurate anymore due to the difficulty there's to simulate the known tech bonus. Well, this bonus is always positive, so whatever we get on the sandbox, we can only do better on the game. Seeing as I need to finish hunting next turn (not exactly need, but I can't finish it this turn), I saved gold for one more turn. If we get some bonus on Masonry, perhaps Mono could be faster than expected.
By the way, this shot shows the distance between what we know from Dazed and THH:
THH didn't lose a city in the interturn, so I guess I was reading too much into his title... Well, who knows. If Dazed had a thread and he made the first update in 2 months, we'd know something was happening, but that was not the case.
The reason why I think the war isn't phny is because THH has writing. I don't think Dazed would declare war to scout if he could ask for it first. Well, perhaps he did and THH didn't accept, right? That's a possibility, but I'd expect THH to accept, since dazed is likely regarded as the least dangerous competitor and he has arguably the worst pick (due to order).
Anyway, what is interesting about the picture is that they are not as close as could be expected. I think it is a reasonable assumption to make that THH 3rd city went north. He has a very nice spot with ivory and stone + cows and rice to his south, but grass cows as the only first ring food is not exactly optimal for a third city, so I could see him delaying it. Dazed probably expanded south and perhaps they are close to each other now... Who knows.
---
Seeing the placement of Dazed, I wonder how the terrain continues up north, passed the deer + gem city we are about to settle. Is that backfill land? Does it connect to another player?
Anyway, I'm happy to have Dazed as a neighbour. I think he's the one more likely to fold without too much of a fight if we are to attack. Commodore and THH I expect to put a tough and hurtful fight, but Dazed is more likely to just mail the turns, I think. So we have a decent expansion project, when we want it.
---
In other news, Commodore just now adopted slavery. Yes, I missed that in the last turns. The huge production is explained by this, I think.
It'll be interesting to see if mines can compete with slavery this early. I guess he also got a lot of chops, being India on quick and all. But non-math chops (he doesn't have math) are kind of meh (you need more than three for a granary)... I don't know. Well, he's at the top of the scoreboard, while fighting a war, so it must be working.

The scout keeps going forward. There's still a chance for a better city to the east of EG, placed as shown (red square), if there's a resource in the circle. Right now, I doubt it... Anyway, blue and green square are possible ways for us to settle that region. Blue we will settle, green would be a future project...
I think we could go for Sailing after Mono. It's a small commerce investment for a nice commerce gain. We have a lot of food and hammers, so invest them into commerce through a galley and settler can work. With stone and masonry, we can actually start a pretty early Moai, built through whip overflow.
Another thing to think about is a run for The Great Lighthouse, if we can get OR on EG. We want a lighthouse there and, considering that island city as our 8th city and the city to the east as the 9th, we'd have 6 coastal cities. That's pretty nice commerce boost, I think. If I'm not mistaken, the cost for the wonder, considering OR bonus, is 138 hammers (lighthouse already accounted). It's doable, perhaps even better investment than the Pyramids.
