Ah ok better than I thought. We can risk it, but I think it seems a fairly big risk to save 1gold... Do you wanna move the chaps then?

I'm really tired, it's probably safer if you do it. I have to prove that a finite field is commutative for monday and it's a very annoying thing to prove, especially when your brain is already asleep.
Ok good news is, the bear didn't follow us. I moved the settler to the plant location and the worker east. I suppose Ronaldo should come back towards the capital while Zlatan protects the worker ? I didn't end turn, they both have their moves left.
Edit : Good news n°2 is that hindu is still available. It's getting late for it though...
Well I figured, if I can prove the Wedderburn theorem I can make my choices in a civ game. So I moved back Ronaldo towards the capital to save 1gpt and Zlatan stayed on the worker in case a wolf comes by. We're last in score due to our size 2 capital (and our demos are down the sink) but myst is due next turn so no more last in score from now on.

Solid performance with a decent win, although they are a different team with ronaldo. I will be expecting good things from France in the euros off the world cup performance. Yeah I agree with all of those moves. The thing we have to ask ourselves and decide is what to do with worker 2, giving that I think we are happy to go warrior to grow the cap on. I'm sure either of us could do a decent game of civ solo, but hopefully together we are more than the sum of our parts. He can either go down to melbourne and help there (just realised he will not speed up connections at all) or mine/chop for the cap. I think perhaps chopping the next settler for the contested spot is the way to go, what would your thoughts be? The original worker after finishing the road to there should chop a forest en route to the next site and then road towards it again. Did you note that Gawdzadek founded this turn? We will be only 1 turn behind the IMP player which isn't bad, and we are 1 turn behind moving the cap anyway. Not bad all in all!
The first half was great, we could have scored 2 or 3 times (and them once). Second half was more complicated but Varane was just too good for their strikers.
I think we'll want to grow to size 4 before the second settler (no sim, just gut feeling) so I'm not too sure we'll really want to chop any more from EA (we could chop into the settler but we'd be delaying the growth). Would we want to get him to MCG to help with an earlier chop for example ? Also I just thought that we might be able to chop/whip a settler from MCG to be able to get to 4 cities sooner. That way the capital can slow build a worker and settler at size 4 while we chop another settler at MCG. Needs simming though, I'll try and get a reasonable sandbox out soon (maybe tomorrow afternoon, but no promises). We're getting a nice 2nd city, if we had settled it by the silvers we'd have it this turn so unless he planted far away I think we're ahead of everyone for now. Our late pottery could get us far behind though (also I'd looooove to get hindu out of the hut). Do you think we should rename the workers as well ? With names of defensive midfielders who're specialized in teamwork and running around the pitch ?
I also missed that HAK founded last turn. That was fast!
Oh I agree on another grow to size 4 before any further settlers, but I believe off the top of my head that that will take about 7 turns. A slow built settler I think will be too slow to secure that spot. He will have a fair way to travel after being built. My feeling was to mine the grasshill and then put another chop into the next settler. Again no sims but that is gut feeling of the most efficient way to get another settler out. I do feel we need pottery but I can't see where to fit it in whilst being able to keep that spot... As for the workers, I'm happy with them being renamed to whatever; although practicality wise, goalkeepers might be an easier theme than defensive midfielders. Edit - This list? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/footbal...me=2359646 The bear came sniffing around, but will have to move out after I founded so I did and moved Webb east. Worker started roading and Ronaldo moved towards the hut. Messi is 1 turn from full health. I chose a worker as a first build in the new city (unsure what else) A monument will be useless if we get poly (10 turns, not gone) A boat can be chopped in 1 go and it will grow rather slowly anyway... Or we could choose something to grow on (warrior?) and have the utility of whipping something from 2-1 in 8 turns, this would give a 14 turn worker rather than a 10 turn for example, with a warrior fully built if we chose that.
Actually I meant slow building a settler in the cap (maybe one whip) for the copper site, while MCG chop whips one for the easter site. But I don't know how feasible that is.
Your goalkeeper list is 2 years old, many of these I don't consider to be in the best 20 now. Neuer is clearly n°1 and De Gea/Lloris/Courtois/Hart would contend for n°2 IMO with Buffon next. It would be nice to have one more warrior for barb defense now and MP later. But that needs to be simmed too. |
