Mardoc: I'd certainly hope we could manage that! Warrior-Worker-Settler after this current settler, so shouldn't be too hard at all.
Whosit: With the Land of Not Bad Food and Rivers to the south, I think IW can be safely saved until after Currency.
Holy crap on a cracker this is going to be a slow early game.

That's it, folks. Game over, time to call it.
I'm just doing my best out here.

Do you think Storm Front has the terrain to be a research capital? I count 5 river grasslands and 3 dry grasslands. Can you make an Ottawa of it? :P
Also, general meta question, but is the big deal with Currency the extra trade routes, or the ability to convert production to gold?

News! We've got contact! It's not a holy terror, but it is a nasty war-prone non-incompetent. Rush to claim that border!

I guess the one weakness of the Gems site is that it has only Rice to feed it. I suppose you could farm another tile just to help growth speed? But that should be enough food for the city since it's all mostly grasslands. Looks like I have a bit to learn about how to utilize wealth, but I'm sure I'll pick it up. Or... dig through more old threads and hope I get lucky. At the very least, Wealth builds seem good when you don't need infrastructure and you already have enough troops.

Depending on what worker labor is available when we get to that city we could farm everything to rush it toward max size and then replace the farms with whatever tile improvements are needed.

Welp, as lovely as contemplation of the future is...we're in the present still. As at the present, turn 36, we're Johnnies-come-lately to this whole "two city empire" thing. But we are proud owners of the snowball-loving Fool Moon, and this time I completed the road first, so trade routes are established and we're on our way to WORLD DOMINATION.
Prior planning prevents piss-poor performance. The chop and mine were timed to get me 19 overflow on that settler; coupled with the 11fhpt of the capital, that means next turn the worker is at 30/60 and can be 1-pop whipped. I don't mind that whip at all right now; overflow funnels into a Pro granary and I won't be actually regrowing into unhappiness until that's done (stopping additional growth on a settler).
Fool Moon's plan is pretty darned simple. Grow, whip granary, grow on dry corn, grow on dry and wet corn, build worker(s) so on ad infinitum. I'm banking on ivory in about, oh, fifteen turns.
Demos. We're late to a second city but not horribly so. Mackoti even delayed until this turn! I see no first ranks, so I declare none of these demos to matter yet.
From the way 2metraninja's scout teleported, the Pacalian Portuguese are due south.
